Got to the thread late, but just to reiterate what Alahunter said this sums it up best when regarding Bo Jackson.

Which play was that where it was a toss right sweep, he stopped and spun left in the blink of an eye. It was pretty famous, just don't remember which. May have been when he was in NFL.

Did he hurdle over a guy after and run to the goal line?

Not a flame, but I was told by my Grandpa that Bo took himself out of a game against Tennessee, because he was getting hit really hard.

He is very knowledgeable, but he is pretty old too. Is there any accuracy to this?

Against the bengals. The headlines were "Bo caught from behind, true story"

My dad is a bengals fan

Give em hell, Alahunter. I find this extremely entertaining. You always seem to find the right bait.

I almost thought you were serious at first, and thought you were just a complete fricking retard. But no one is that stupid, are they?

Or are they?

Alahunter has gone full retard.

No offense, Mr. OP Wildcat, but you were born in 1988, you never saw Bo... If you would take Cadillac over Bo, you either said that as a troll post, or you really should watch football with the women.

Bo Jackson was a once in a lifetime back, better than any back ever in the SEC not named Herschel, and in most people's opinion, there would be no drop off between those two.

Forgot how fast this guy was. Just watched some youtube vids of him as a Raider. He separated from DB's, who are usually the fastest guys on the field.

Cadillac was more of a speed back and Bo was a power back

OP, Bo clocked 4.2 at the combine... I think thats pretty fast.

"agism". I'm not trolling on Bo. I'm just challenging the status quo. I think Bo was a great running back at auburn but because Auburn has had so many great running backs come through there I just wonder if he should still be considered the greatest. That is the point of the thread.

Bo was a perfect combination of speed and power. 6'1" 220+lbs. As fast or faster then anyone on the field. The day he was injured and later done for good. Was a sad day for me. Loved watching him run.

I was in school in the early 80's and saw Bo play when I was a student. Those were great days. Bo had the ability to simply take over a game. Before or since, the only guy at Auburn I ever saw do that was Cam Newton.

Herschel Walker could do it as well, but to my mind, the 3 best at taking over a game I ever saw were Walker, Jackson and Newton. All 3 could just make opposing defenses look stupid and bewildered.

I think i know what game he is talking about. UT beat Auburn something like 35-7 in Kville in the driving rain. Jackson got hurt early in the game and I think Pat Dye sat him late in the game to prevent further aggravation. Cant remember if it was a shoulder or a hammie. Something like that. In any case, UT beat our butt that day. AU wasnt ready to play for some reason. Was actually disgusting. I remember being PISSED.

Reminds me of an up and coming true freshman RB
named TJ Yeldon 6'1 215lbs.

Have you heard of him?

Bo and Herschel were before I started paying attention, so they are folklore status to me...Paul Bunyonesque if you will. As far as the top 3 that I've watched,it goes:

Cadillac
Rudi
Ronnie B

Cadillac was a highlight reel anytime he touched the ball, but Rudi was a man amongst boys. If I was a defensive player, I would have been scared shitless to see him bust through a hole and headed downhill towards me. I just wish Auburn had him for four years...he could have shattered records.

Bo called Football a hobby once. He never practiced, didn't have to lift weights, ran in a run only offense with 8/9 in the box, and basically put Auburn on the map. Greatest recruit ever for AU - Cam being second.
