re: the least classy sec fans.

As a group Id have to say LSU fans. I dont have anything against them individually but there are some examples:

The fanbase harrassing certain players in their personal lives was one(cellphone thing, and you cant tell me just one person did it)

That whole Saban effigy thing? I understand the dislike LSU fans have for the guy, but...........

And some of the chants by the fans at your home stadium are just vulgar. I understand that Rammerjammer is not the nicest thing ever, but surely a chant telling someone or a team to go fk themselves brings classlessness to a new level.

As a disclaimer Id like to reiterate that my dislike is for LSU fans as a group. I say this aware that the perception of the Alabama fanbase is that we are all a bunch of arrogant asses.

though I was told by an LSU fan about the horror of Nebraska fans. So its not that I think LSU fans are the worst in the country.

Also, alltime hate is for Philly Fans of every sport. They are the most vile asshats in the US. I hope they go nuclear on that area of the country one day.

Strong post. In my experience, Nebraska fans are usually fairly nice. I think that must have been one of those situations that happens at every school.

I've been to both Tuscaloosa and Oxford, fans at both places were polite and pretty good overall.

I'd say the worst in the SEC is LSU, FL and then MSU.

Typically it doesn't. For an example, see the current financial situation in Birmingham/Jefferson County. Also, a large number of Auburn students graduate and move 120 miles northeast of campus.

I have always contended that for the most part you could exchange the biggest schools fans for one another and you would not notice an ounce worth of difference.

All schools have the following:

A) Older Alumni who loved the school and always have. They are usually the best behaved and unfortunately the quietest.

B) Drunk rednecks who never took a class in middle school, forget about a college classroom for them. They can drink until a mountain of Natty Light Cans is piled up beside the Ford Pinto. They can be rowdy, rude and crude just like the students. Forgive them, for they are to stupid to know any better. If Jack Daniels is involved it is best to walk away 'cause Bubba and Jethro and willing to BEAT YOU DOWN if your shirt colors don't match theirs.

This is also the crowd that doesn't mind if their spawn castigates you while flipping the bird. They actually approve and encourage this behavior to ensure the survival of their kind.

C) The students, of which 95% have at least had 2 beers and 60% have had 12. The latter include Frat Stars playing pong at their tailgate, the drunk whores wearing mini skirts so when they fall over they are sure to get on the intraweb with a crotch shot and the regular old students that under normal circumstances would be considered good kids. Add alcohol to this group and you get the ugly results from bravery in a bottle. These are the guys who walk in packs screaming eff your team, eff that, you suck, go home, we are going to beat your arse, etc... Without alcohol this group is tame and probably would help you change your tire if you had a flat. With alcohol they morph in the vitriol spewing barbarians ready to pounce on even women and children. Stay away from them. They usually do not have an organized tailgate by the way so they are easy to spot. They are standing in the rain because they are too goofy to know to put up a tent.

In summary, for those of you addicted to cliff notes...

Your team sucks. Your fans suck and are the worst in the league. Enjoy the the view of a Gatahs butt as clearly you are all looking up at us contending for 2nd. How's the weather down there?

I know Im going to catch a lot of shite for this, but without question the LEAST classy fans in the SEC has to be LSU's fans. Classless in regards to treatment towards opposing fans. I'll give a couple of examples.

Back in 2002 I went down to Baton Rouge to watch them play Mississippi State and brought a date (who knew VERY LITTLE about football) We both wore Mississippi State gear to the game. We got there about 9AM it was a JP 11:30 game.
Once we parked we started walking towards Tiger Stadium and some guys (already drunk at 9AM)and gets in my dates face and starts yelling Tiga Bait! TIGA BAIT! My date was scared and felt verbally and physically threatened and began to cry and told me she didnt want to go to the game. After talking to her, she decided to go to the game. LSU fans sure know how to welcome opposing fans to their first LSU game.

Another example is while walking around campus at LSU before a game in 2004 I was just trying to talk to some LSU fans and see if they would give me a beer. I wasnt wearing any MSU gear, but wasnt wearing LSU gear so one guy tailgating called me out asking who I was for, and I said Mississippi State. He then yelled at me GET the frick off OUR CAMPUS and We GONNA BEAT THE frick OUT OF YOUR BULLDOGS.

Now thats what I call HOSPITALITY.
Im sure that all LSU fans arent like that, but LSU does have a large number of obnoxious, classless fans (many of whom Im sure never even went to school at LSU)
