We still aren't bitter about the game. Aubies just showed their true colors and ever since it's been a shitshow... Even your own posters have admitted that it basically started with Fairley...

It was obviously 2010 that UGA fans really started to hate Auburn. Nick Fairley + winning a National Championship.

UGA has a serious inferiority complex when it comes to that NC and it shines through in threads like this.

My only reasoning is that he'll do it just to piss off Auburn fans. It's funny when he does that, and when he loses. They're pissed either way.

I don't think this'll be the year for that. At this point he already got the "vote of confidence" from the AD... *next* year on the other hand seems ripe for a "have a bad/mediocre season" pull off the upset over Bama or UGA and make it difficult to fire him... I'm with you on the logic, just not the timing.

Nick Fairley

Absolutely... TPOS and Auburn fans want to somehow straddle the line of being a "holier than thou" fanbase that is so much better than UGA fans and "absolutely garbage human beings" by supporting him... If you can justify his actions, then you probably fit the bill... Seriously, the dichotomy is amazing.

winning a National Championship.

I don't know a single UGA fan who would trade our past 18 years for Auburn's... let alone our future trajectory. One team wins a National Championship every year... unless your name is UCF... would we like to win it? Absolutely, but it's not the only barometer for a successful program.

Sure...

The inferiority complex you are referencing is best illustrated by fans of teams who *have* a national championship and yet still feel like they have something to prove since they consistently get their asses handed to them by an "underperforming team" like UGA. Maybe take a look at the threads posted by Auburn fans over the past week...

Hell... rather than address the subject at hand, literally the only response is some variation of "1980" or "we have a more recent national championship and you're jelly." Never mind that you went FIFTY plus years between championships...

That's how pathetic things have gotten for the War Plain Tiger Birds... Damn. At least they (you maybe?) have the right coach to get them where they wanna go...

So what's your standard for success? Regularly winning on your opponent's home field? It seems to be based on the amount of effort put into this thread.

If faced with the choice, I think any Auburn fan would take 1 undefeated NC year for not winning in Athens in 13 years. Maybe you just can't relate to that choice...Believe it not, the world does not revolve around UGA and Dawg fans have a hard time fathoming that.

Is this your first rodeo on the rant? It's entertaining to figure out fun narratives for weekly matchups.

I'd say double digit wins 11 of the last 16 seasons is pretty fricking successful... 10 of those seasons finished ranked in the top 25. Over 75% win percentage over that time span. The worst season was a 6-6 regular season with a bowl loss.

This is probably true... but I'm friends with PLENTY of Auburn fans who would disagree with the premise of 2010 makes up for all of the frustrations that have come with the rest of the nearly last 20 years.

Hell.. don't take my word for it, here's a comment from a reasonable Auburn poster on another board.

quote:

The Courtney Taylor play on 4th and 10. Yep. Last time they won at Athens. Just another reason I'm not satisfied with Auburn in the last 10-12 years. It's because we've let LSU, Georgia and Alabama absolutely own us. So we have 2010? So we have 2013? So freaking what? What does that matter? 2010 was the most unenjoyable undefeated season known to man and 2013 was Gus being Gus and finding a way to blow it against FSU. I don't like being the Florida Marlins. Give me the Braves over the Marlins any day. I'd rather have 14 straight years with a shot at it than 1 year every 15 with a shot at it while all those years in the middle suck and that is what Auburn is. 8-5 is not good enough!! Not with the top 10 recruiting classes. Not with a coach making $7M a year.

I don't think the world revolves around any one team. But Auburn's general lack of success against their rivals over the last 10+ years is pretty enjoyable for everyone but Auburn fans.

What's the line? 13?

Seems reasonable. This UGA team is not an offensive juggernaut. Even with several turnovers in the UF and UK games, not a ton of offensive production to show for it. Also, we seem to not push if we get a lead that much, so good chance for them to backdoor it even if we had a decent lead midway through the third.

Don't care, AU is a basketball school now. Congrats on your win over our overpaid coach.

How old are you? UGA fans got water cannons turned on them at Awbun in 1986. And we detested the school even way before that. Yeah, Fairley was a two-bit thug, and he, $cam, Milt McGregor, Bobby Lowder, etc. will always be Awbun to us, but UGA fans aren’t nearly the only ones who detest the dirtiest program in CFB. If $cam and Fairley had played at UGA, I’d never support the program again.

We admire Bama for hiring a great HC and doing things the right way. Awbun irks us for the slimy and dirty way the program has always operated. Don’t kid yourself. You should hear the way that UGA fans talk about Awbun. Hint: It’s not flattering.

You might be the biggest fig on the rant. Congrats.
I can't believe a full functioning adult would spend the time to type that out 3 times.

There it is. Their only talking point. Their most recent Title came 57 years after their first title and it finally gave them the same number of titles we have.

Of course they would. That gives them the only talking point they have. The most recent Title. Not more titles, mind you. Just the more recent one. Not more all time wins, SECC, head to head wins.....nope. Just one talking point. Recent....and it is getting farther and farther in the rearview mirror.
