Did he still not have to pass the LSAT and, after graduating, pass the Bar Exam in order to first become a practicing attorney just like everyone else that practices law?

He did pass the LSAT and Louisiana bar. Only 60% of Southern’s law school grads pass the bar. A quarter of Southern grads; 26%; do not find employment within one year of graduation.

So, basically, the answer is yes just like any other practicing attorney who is licensed in Louisiana.
