How many Olympic sprinters have played NFL football?

I give him a longer look, see if we can work it out, too fast to not try to get him involved.

How did he get to LSU, yep, those HS exploits, you don't get that?

When you have a guy this damn fast, like really really fast, you try all ya can do get him out there, yes talking situational spots.

He was in the NFL for 6 years and 6 different teams. He got plenty of looks

Jesus fricking christ dude. He was tried at RB, WR, and as a return guy. It became abundantly clear to his college coaches and his NFl coaches that his value was only as a return guy. But he still had ball security issues fielding punts, which is why guys like Chad Jones and Rueben Randle fielded punts when they were being fielded inside the 30s while he was at LSU and why he was pulled from punt return duties while with the Broncos.

You think the reason why he didn't do more is because teams didn't try to make him work is so unbelievably ignorant that I honestly can't believe you're still trying to argue this point.

Was he fast? yes, very fast. Is there more to being a valuable football player than just speed? Yes, very much so. Does the fact that he ran for a lot of yards in high school mean he could have done it in college and the NFL? No, it doesn't.

But please post some more about guys who played with leather helmets. That's really compelling

Bo had a personal speed trainer and tried for several months to run a time fast enough to qualify for the US trials After running many 100’s his best was 10:37. Had to run 10:25 to qualify for the trials.

The guy averaged over 6 yards a carry at LSU, over 10 yards a reception. What's not to like?

I take him on as a project at the NFL level, see what I can do to get the fastest guy in the NFL to help the team.

Simply too big to run with legit world class cats around 170ish pounds or so. Bolt an exception but...6-5

Nothing more important in football than speed, why does the SEC rule college football...speed. The big guys can run.

When you have a 10,00 sprinter on your team, a guy who can score every time he touchs the ball you do everything you can do get this guy involved. I don't think he got what he needed, that ok with you?

As ya ignore all those Olympians/fast cats who did make it.

Dude, I can rattle off over 100 track sprinters who played in the NFL, ok?

When did I say that fast guys didn't play in the NFL?

It's weird, you entered this discussion asking for answers about Holliday. You got them, then argued with them. Amazing

Achane ran a 10.04 as a freshmen. It was wind aided, but you should expect him to run an official time that is better than some or all of these guys before he is done.

He wasn't a RB. He was a WR under Les Miles run heavy offense, and he returned kickoffs and punts. He was 5'5 165-170 lbs

Well, that’s just wrong. As already stated, he had far more carries than receptions. If Les Miles wasn’t a moron, he’d have more.

You left off the fastest man, Leonard Scott.

When Leonard played WR/KR for Tennessee there were only about 3 people on Earth as fast as him. Literally three other people on the planet that fast.

One problem. Leonard couldn't catch.

Yeah, his 9.91 waS the fastest 100m ever ran by a football player until Christian Coleman came along with that 9.7 stuff.

BUT...he never made an NFL roster, I also didn't mention Olympic sprinters Frank Budd, Ray Norton, Tommie Smith, Jimmy Hines all failed experiments.

John Capel Florida and Xavier Carter LSU great sprinters who played football but no NFL.

Maybe not the fastest but Dexter McCluster was one of the quickest.
