All the more reason to do everything in our power to preserve the recent run of success we've had, dummy. That's why people are flipping out: we were slowly building something and now progress isn't happening. Leaning back and saying "well we used to suck, might as well just go back to that" isn't a winning strategy. Be smarter.

Any program would be concerned. But you and others have gone further in this thread than expressing concern. The three or four Gamecock fans here seem to advocate Spurrier stepping down immediately. Did I misinterpret those posts agreeing with Phat Phil?

Spurrier should've been a VFL. I always like wondering what might have been if he had went to Tennessee instead of Florida 50 years ago.

The point is, if he's going to step down at some point in the near future, he either needs to do it now, or publicly announce some type of succession plan. Neither have been done, and as a result, we've watched 20% of what would have been the best recruiting class in our history evaporate into thin air with who knows how many more defections to come.
