Well you got the losing part going good for you.
Let me know when you all get to the winning championships part of the process.

Lots of AU Alum in the Atlanta area.I know all the jokes about fallback school and all, but most of the kids I've known the past 10 years or so that have gone to AU have been legacies or had some other ties (friends going there).
2684 from GA and 1052 from FL in 2016. There were a lot more from FL it seemed when I was there though.
I had a list of 5 or so schools that I would have applied to if I hadn't gotten into UGA early, and one of them was Auburn. Even though it was a little bit true in my case, the whole backup school thing is pretty overblown. It would go the other way if there was a major city in Alabama and not in Georgia - there are way too many students to realistically go to Georgia, and Auburn is the next logical option for many.
Are there many students at AU from states to the west?

Well, this is our first year of losing, so next year will be meh, then we'll go 8-5

HOPE. If the bible thumpers in Alabama would allow a lottery there wouldn't be a bit of difference.

BS...we have larger and better educated population to draw from.AU would improve but not by much.

Here's where I got my info...

Some from CO and CA. I had a friend at Auburn from CA when I was there. Most of my friends were from out-of-state for some reason, maybe because the AL people already knew a lot of other people.

True, but you can't argue that HOPE is what drove the demand for UGA and made it a better school. UGA wasn't any better than Auburn when I applied (and got into both) and I was a dumbass in high school (and still am, some may argue).

Had you said not plausible or not likely then yeah, I would probably agree since the odds are very unlikely that most teams will play for one. But saying impossible is just ignorant.

The barking is real.
About ten years ago I was walking around campus pre-game, South Carolina was in town. I was in a faded black T-shirt with faded red letters that said Georgia.
Unfortunately, it matched USC's garnet and black perfectly.
A drunk frat boy mistook me for a USC fan and got in my face on North Campus as I was walking and minding my business, and started barking his whiskey breath into my face like the drunk jackass he was.
However.... I've had much worse experiences with other SEC fanbases in their towns than simply being barked at.
USC and Jacksonville to be particular.
All SEC schools have drunk jackass frat boy fans that treat other people like shite.

More realistic than ignorant, but I never meant to crush your dream. My apology.

Auburn is going to kick the living shite out of UGA

When it comes to UGA I think it's more likely it's folks coming from outside the area. From about 2005 through 2011 we had some rough encounters with UGA people, but I don't recall any that seemed like fraternity guys were the problem.
I know a kid who got his leg broken by UGA fans, but that was back before any of the shite really started (2003 I think).

Yeah wtf. Why wasn't he wearing a polo with khakis and little red dogs on them tucked in and some loafers. Don't you know how to dress?!? Loser.

When did UGA start touting this so-called academic prestige...I thought that was a Tech thing?

True and it can also be argued that it's higher standards actually helped out AU in getting metro Atl students. It's boarderline ridiculous how kids from north metro Atl are treated when it comes to getting in UGA.There is a quota for those kids no matter what the admissions office says.
