South Carolina should be ranked
ridiculous that they aren’t

but don’t worry, that will take care of itself next week after they beat the Vols

Indiana getting by unranked teams in overtime every week is a joke at number 3.

Honestly, "ranked" is pretty crude way to judge team strength. We all do is because it's the easiest point of reference but there is not much difference between a team ranked 25 and a team ranked 26-40.

Especially since record has more to do with rankings than actual team strength, which is measured with power rankings.

In power ranking, Northwestern, Nebraska and Michigan are considered decent wins. About 70-75% as good as the best team.

These are teams on par with SEC teams like A&M, USC and even Kentucky despite Kentucky's wins and rank. Kentucky's rank is deserved based on results, do not get me wrong, but they aren't blowing people out either which would make them appear to be a tougher team.

Which shows up in other ways, such as I have Kentucky as 9 point dogs to Tennessee and Vegas has them as 6 point dogs. But if Kentucky wins like they have multiple other predicted losses, then that is what ultimately matters and why they deserve their rank(I have Kentucky #3). Winning is all that matters in the end, not what your power is perceived to be.

And Indiana only has the 4 point loss to Ohio St who ranks really high in the power rankings world(or did, we'll see how much they drop in the next few weeks).

That loss to Miss St is killing them.

But I jumped them almost into the top25. If they win over A&M next week I think they can get in there.

And if they can beat everyone else on their schedule, they might be borderline playoff. That involves beating Georgia, but even if they lose to Georgia and win all the others, I think they can finish at the bottom of the top25 on an 8-4 record.

Has Kentucky ever had a 1st place vote in a major poll before? Someone voted them #1

My favorite part of this is seeing Kentucky ranked higher than Ohio State. It’s fricking beautiful.

LSU had the #1 remaining SOS coming into this weekend but Mizzou plays #11 Texas, #2 Georgia, #7 Kentucky in B2B2B weeks. If only they hadn’t lost to State they could have had a very interesting November.

This week is stacked:
#11 Texas @ #19 Mizzou
#1 Miami @ #6 ND
#8 BYU @ #4 Utah
#9 Alabama @ #15 LSU
#2 Georgia @ #12 Ole Miss
#7 Kentucky @ #16 Tennessee
Oregon @ #10 Ohio State with backup QB
#5 UCLA @ Minnesota — that’s a long travel for bruins against an upset minded Gopher team
