It wasn't an investigation. She and 11 others filed a lawsuit against Liberty. The suit was already settled when Freeze slid in her DM's. She had been on Twitter bashing Liberty which is what caught his attention in the first place.
By the way, usually these settlements have gag orders. A person who received money usually is not allowed to go around talking about it. It's a breach of the agreement in most cases.

This whole thing is a bad look for Liberty and for Auburn. What single skill set does Freeze possess that could possibly support hiring him over any number of equal or more qualified candidates?
