I remember reading a very sad story of a student paralyzed after fans rushed the field.

That definitely cured Bama fans from rushing the field. Birmingham police beat and arrested some of them and now Bama fans don't rush the field anymore.
Wait, what? I think Bama and Florida are the only SEC teams to never have rushed the field.

Act like you’ve been there.

Those were irrigation sprinklers used to water the field. UGA zealots remember high pressure water canons used to intentionally hurt, maim or murder their fans who were destroying Jordan Hare stadium landscaping and the playing field.

Schools love the court storming despite what they say. Any 16-17 year old watching is going to see the school as awesome and want to go there. The schools probably get more good press for recruiting students with the few 100k in fines they pay than they would with a million dollar advertising campaign

If the school wanted to, they could use video and revoke tickets from every single student that storms the court/field. Run it through some AI facial recognition program and you have your list. Would be pretty easy.

There is nothing wrong with this country that semi-automatics couldn't fix.

No member of a visiting team has ever been seriously injured during a field rush, which again, is the comment I was replying to.

Not sure why you keep attempting to move the goalposts.

Lol…so true…but dude, don’t you feel a wee bit hypocritical posting that with a student body/fanbase that marched across the Texas campus, waving dildos, carrying signs: “Cocks not Glocks?”

I see nothing wrong with it.

In fact by storming the field it likely prevents crime outside of stadium. If all those passionate fans use their energy on the field they mostly calm down before leaving field.

If they are banned from storming they could take that energy outside and cause more problems. In a way it contains them in a more easily controlled atmosphere on the field.

Nothing wrong with storming the field as done in the 20th century.

But now nobody knows how to behave, and so destruction must ensue.

We could fix this, but nobody wants to. We could fix most everything, but nobody wants to. All it takes is one or two to make an example, that's all.

A million-dollar fine in football and it is given to the losing team being engulfed.

this is how it already works. The fine goes to the losing team now instead of charity. It's not a million dollars for a first offense but the fine does go to the losing team now

"I truly believe [in forfeiting wins] — if we said that the home team, if they storm the field or the court, they're going to lose that game right then and there, that will stop it."Alabama AD Greg Byrne told ESPN

If this won't deter them, nothing will.

Is to finish games like our men's basketball team has been doing at home all year.

The Alabama overreactions to field stormings, in particular, are quite dramatic.

The people involved are much more likely to be seriously injured or killed, driving to and from the game, than they are to be in storming the field.
