I told him to get over himself as LSU does not exactly have a history to be proud of and yet he makes this thread talking about how we were "doormats" of the SEC for a few years when LSU was an SEC doormat for most of their history.

For someone who is trying to "prove points" and win an argument you sure did resort to insults and name calling rather quickly.

I'm sorry that your glasses are so purple you cannot see that Alabama is the greatest program in the history of college football. If we were not so bashful and soft spoken we would claim the 21 titles we rightfully own and the whole world would know our dominance.

What did I deflect? The truth is some of what they're saying isn't entirely false. Why don't you open a book and read up on a man named George Denny. See he had this idea that football could be a big money maker and could draw folks into wanting to come to a school. So he worked on trying to build a venue and hire coaches that could put a winning team together. So he hired this guy named Wallace Wade who took Alabama out of the south and started beating the "highly superior" Northern teams. Wade coached such a strong team that in his 3rd year as head coach, Alabama was invited to the Rose Bowl, which was the only post season game at the time. He won the game and even Alabama was invited back the year after and again in 1930. The rest you should read about, because after Wade a guy named Frank Thomas came a long and was the mentor to another HoF coach who ended up mentoring some coaches himself.
The only other school that was having any type of success close to that out of the South was Tennessee.

Alabama didn't build the SEC by themselves; they along with other schools through the years help build it to the powerhouse it is today.
