Under Miles, the Tigers shattered the school record for consecutive home victories with 22 from Oct. 24, 2009 to Oct. 13, 2012. LSU is 87-12 at home since the 2000 season -- including perfect home records of 7-0 in 2004, 8-0 in 2006, 7-0 in 2010 , 6-0 in 2011 and 7-0 in 2013. Only twice since 2000 have the Tigers lost more than one home game. LSU is a perfect 28-0 against non-conference teams at home when Miles is on the sideline.

How many of your DB's can lock down a WR man on man? Unless a DB can do that they usually won't receive an offer from LSU. Not always the case, but normally that's the way it turns out.

But doesn't that screw up the whole "Snyder had a good defense in 2012" narrative?

Nope. There was no depth in 2012 and we got EXTREMELY lucky on injuries. Star-wise, the 2014 defense was actually more talented than the 2012 version, but A&M had 5 seniors, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 1 freshman starting. The one freshman was at SDE opposite Damontre Moore.

If you recall, when anyone bashed A&M's defense the past two years, you all reminded us that Snyder had a good defense in 2012 when you had more talent. Now you're claiming that talent doesn't matter because Snyder is just a bad coach?

Your DBs don't learn how to lock down D -1 receivers when they're in high school give your staff the credit they deserve for developing DB talent so well

Rashard Robinson locked down Mike Evans in his 5th college football game with no spring practice. He reported to the team a week or so before the season started

Patrick Peterson

You're going to learn the name Kevin Tolliver II. He's the next lock down LSU corner.

The 2012 defense was IN SPITE of Snyder, not because of him. All you had to see was the Louisiana Tech game and the second half of the SHSU and Missouri games to see what happened when all 11 starters weren't on the field.

Just like the 1998 A&M team won the Big 12 IN SPITE of Slocum, not because of him.

Yea I wasn't being sarcastic at all

LSU and Bama defenses are consistent, but the difference is they typically have a guy who can force a turnover, swat down a ball, or something to really shift momentum

they look for this type of player once they are all on campus and try to put them in positions to make plays. Mathieu was lined up all over the defense in the one really good year we got out of him.

And if you recall, you made a bet on the forum that you simply didn't keep.

Okay

It's not like LSU is the only program recruiting "lockdown" corners at the HS level and signing them. When you've been that successful at the position for this long it's time to look at the common denominator. Y'all have turned 5 stars and 3 stars alike into lockdown players, it's the talent assessment an development on campus. I'm trying to compliment your program, take it for frick's sake

Yup. And we have had talented players at DB in the last 10 or so years, not nearly on the level of LSU or Bama, but still. None of them have taken that step to becoming a big time playmaker, which is why I think it all comes back to coaching, development and putting players in the best spot to succeed

I didn't even realize they had that many.

Hate to agree with an Aggy here but I have to.

A&M doesn't have any good players on defense. Last I saw that little freshmen DE, he was being driven 10 yards back and put to sleep on the ground every play.

What about player development?

And your offensive scheme does not emphasize ball control, and until it does, you will never win anything.

No, you said that if we swapped DCs with the same roster, results are the same. Development starts with team culture, through conditioning, down to position coaches. Lots more involved than just the DC fella

The Franchione offenses of 2006 and 2007 emphasized ball control and the defenses were WORSE.

Yeah, but the players sucked

Lots of LSU threads from A&M fans the last 7 days. You know that your next game is against Texas, right?

Your game against LSU isn't until 11/27/2015 - 336 days away! Until then, hopefully a new d-coordinator can work on your defense and maybe your argument will hold some water at that time. Best of luck against the horns!
