Winning the West /= 2nd best team in the SEC.
Alabama was the best team in the country twice and didn't win the SEC.
It's why the playoff is expanding to 12.
It was specifically stated they're doing that because the best teams don't always go to their conference championship game.
It's why the conference championship game will be irrelevant in 2 years and you'll see teams pull their best players for it.
The SEC Championship game was irrelevant this year.

Lost that argument when you got drilled by the Cocks.
Teams that are in that conversation don't lose (badly) to terrible teams.
The Vols had a nice season. Much like A&M last year and in 2012, you made your entire season barely beating Alabama. And, like A&M, you'll make it your entire identity for the next decade because it'll be your biggest accomplishment.
Tennessee will regress back to their mean next year.
That offense will get figured out by the SEC like it always does.
It doesn't work without a 30 year old QB.

Nope. Won the head to head. Won every category the playoff committee lists as their criteria.
