...and I think that you should have never ended it.

Aggy and Bevo are fricking perfect foils for each other and should play annually in a non-conference game. Aggy has plenty of "empty" non-conference games that could be dropped in order to maintain tradition.

We didn't. They did.

Tried to keep it going but they refused. We have since moved on.

In an interview just a few weeks ago their AD said the horn alums still weren't ready to forgive A&M and therefore would not consider playing us in any fashion

Speaking of revisionist history, why wouldn't we want to share the cost of a network 50/50 while only receiving 30% of the revenue?

You've been playing since 1894. You are in each other's fight songs. You've met about, oh, 118 fricking times.

It's tradition.

As for who declined who, I've noticed that it really depends on who you ask. Both parties have their side of the story to tell.

Our side is we left Thanksgiving open for TWO YEARS while we waited for an answer from Texas. When they wouldn't agree to restart the tradition the SEC office moved LSU into the slot. I don't see how we have any of the blame. We left a spot open. Our president left the offer on the table.

Meanwhile the last two Texas ADs have both commented that they have no room for A&M, even though openings have come up since they started that stance. They have been on the record that we represent a sliver of Texas that doesn't help their brand one bit if we play.

Seems obvious who declined who.

we had played Baylor since 1899 and weve played them a total of 108 times. how come that's not tradition? weres all of the faux outrage over that? we had played tech 70 times since 1927. wheres the outrage over that?

That's bs, our admins are on record in multiple interviews saying any time any place.

quote:

"I've always said 'anytime, anywhere" Loftin added.

texass admins are just the opposite, they are on record in multiple interviews saying they are punishing us for leaving and won't play us until they are good and ready.

quote:

They left,” Dodds said. “We get to decide when we play again. I think that’s fair. I think there’s too many hard feelings.”

2015 - Arizona State, Nevada
2016 - UCLA
2017 - UCLA
2018 - Clemson
2019 - Clemson

I've often wondered what truly started the shortwhorns downward spiral. And, was this season an indication the Ags are in for a similar plight?

Mack overpromising a certain QB in regards to roster spots. When GG was a bust there wasn't a real backup to come in because he was promised a lack of competition. It is better to have a big competition every offseason and just deal with transfer afterwards.

Nope, this season was a bump on the road. Recruiting is still at near all-time highs, QB position looks good, and we should have better defensive coaching going forward.

It is indeed a relevant football topic.

One day whether A&M spirals upwards or downwards may be such a topic.

We have been in the spiral and are hopefully on the way out.

All teams go through it. whorns just thought they were too special to ever hit a speed bump. Then they let their pride get in the way of making good decisions. Stabbed one of their greatest coaches ever in the back and hired a decent coordinator as a head coach. Now they are blinded by their anger and bitterness.

They have 2-3 years MINIMUM of wandering in the desert in front of them.
