I asked my mom about it the other day (she grad from Texas in the late 60s) .. she said that Arkansas was definitely a bigger rival than A&M.
She said A&M just wasn’t any good, and the Arkansas game was always more important. And that is true..
Texas & Texas A&M have never both been good at the same time.. I’m sure it has happened, but I don’t recall a year where both teams where top 10. It happened all the time with Texas vs Arkansas.. again mostly because A&M sucked.

Texas vs Arkansas = championships
