I have family in Louisiana and Alabama, so I read the boards here to keep up with what's going on at those schools. I never start threads and I rarely post unless the topic is about Texas, or aggy lays out some bait that I can't pass up.

Give it up, you are not coming to the SEC. Everyone knows who you are and what you stand for.
I never said we were, I just stated an irrefutable truth: If SEC's money-men wanted UT in the SEC, and UT's money-men wanted to be in the SEC, UT would be in the SEC and there's frick-all that aggy could do to stop it. They don't even let you choose what bowl game you go to, much less let you dictate the future of the conference. Saying that doesn't mean I want it, it's called a hypothetical.

This comment might represent the Aggie community as a whole better than anything I've read lately.

Doubtful

TAMU was on the SEC radar since they left the SIAA and was certainly on the radar in the 90's realignments.

Wrong.

Texas and Arky were very involved in discussions with the SEC in the late eighties. Texas politics/insistence that A&M be included killed the negotiations for Texas. Both Texas and the SEC saw A&M as unneeded baggage.

Study up on Harvey Schiller, UT was the primary target in his expansion vision. Couldn't pull in Texas, but wasn't taking A&M.

Lotta crazy talk on here, a few people make the decisions and a few people can trump them. It's always about the money, start at the top and work your way down.

If Texas wanted in the SEC it would be in the SEC.. there aren't too many scenarios where the addition of the #1 fish gets trumped. Lightning could strike twice, but I doubt it.

Put aside the hate for a certain program and focus on the love of money and it's reality. To think otherwise is simply Joe Fan Simpleton on display.

Account created in 2014, 41 of his 58 total posts have been in the last two weeks. Why did he start posting after all this time you ask? What happened to make him a regular poster? He started posting again right after Lew banned Left Handed Catcher.

I think Arkansas needs Texas so the state, fans, alumni and football team have a game to circle.
Missouri will never be this. LSU had a chance but Aggy screwed this off
So I do not see why tFlagship would not approve the whorns from joining the SEC
I do not think Texas wants to be in this conference though.

If we add Oklahoma and Texas.
This would give the Hogs two huge rivals inside the SEC. This would pretty much mean if Bama and Auburn then move East Arkansas would be in the center of the new SEC West with rivalries with every school

I hear ya, of all the teams that have scattered I miss the TX-Arkansas series the most. Most have no idea what those two teams meant to CFB in the 60's and 70's.

Nice Alter. A real Arkansas fan wouldn't piss on the burnt orange to put out a fire.

Here are the "#1 fish":

SEC:

Alabama (football)
Kentucky (basketball)
Florida (baseball)

ACC:

Clemson (football)
North Carolina (basketball)
Louisville (baseball)

Big Ten:

Ohio State (football)
Michigan State/Purdue (basketball)
Indiana? (baseball)

Big 12:

Oklahoma (football)
Kansas (basketball)
TCU (baseball)

PAC 12:

Oregon/Washington/USC (football)
Arizona (basketball)
Oregon State (baseball)

I don't see t.u. anywhere in there.

The power in every conference is the same as it was in the beginning and will never change
ACC North Carolina
BIG Michigan
Big XII Texas
PAC 12 Stanford
SEC Alabama

Bama always has ran the SEC and still does.
This is who Frank Broyles spoke with when he was trying to get the Hogs into the SEC

Great series. The football series eventually lead to the baseball and basketball series in the 1980's.

Great competition in almost every sport including track and field.
More importantly a high level of competition at the highest level. College World Series', Regional
final and National Championship game

Yep, best lost rivalry.

LSU would be best new rivalry.

Aggy doesn't understand that if Texas would join the SEC Arkansas would be getting two rivalries back
LSU on Thanksgiving weekend
Then playing Texas every year

Aggy is counting votes they do not have. From my understanding if Texas wanted in the SEC only team that would say no would be A&M. Bama is a maybe. Bama thinks they can get Texas recruits while keeping A&M down and keeping Texas out of the SEC and in the process destroying them.
