Based on Texas football, it’s an easy mistake to make.

Yes, because LSU were such world beaters last season.

Offensive Line
.9722 Tyler Johnson (So) 6’6 325
.9458 Junior Angilau (Jr) 6’6 319
.9218 Jake Majors (R-Fr) 6’3 310
.9084 Isaiah Hoofkin (So) 6’5 299
.9069 Jaylon Garth (R-Fr) 6’5 309
.9045 Denzel Okafor (Sr) 6’4 322
.9023 Logan Parr (R-Fr) 6’4 308
.8993 Rafiti Ghirmai (Jr) 6’5 296
.8918 Andrej Karic (R-Fr) 6’4 300
.8872 Hayden Conner (Fr) 6’5 332
.8647 Christian Jones (Jr) 6’6 314
.8603 Derek Kerstetter (Sr) 6’5 310
.8519 Tope Imade (Sr) 6’6 361

Those 3 dudes at the bottom will probably start for us this year and they are good. The rest are all 4 stars with the exception of Conner, who is a high 3 star and might actually get some playing time this year.

Are you saying that isn’t enough or are you saying that Texas needs more high 4 stars and 5 star type guys?

What does A&M’s roster look like?

Defensive Line
.9706 Alfred Collins (So) 6’5 302
.9473 Vernon Broughton (R-Fr) 6’4 306
.9468 Keondre Coburn (Jr) 6’2 346
.9025 Myron Warren (So) 6’2 285
.8884 Moro Ojomo (Jr) 6’3 286
.8863 Bryon Murphy (Fr) 6’1 297
.8735 T’vondre Sweat (Jr) 6’4 335

Only 2, maybe 3 of these guys will start each game as PK runs a 2-4-5 defense.. DL is stacked pretty good imo.

Defensive Edge
.9444 Prince Dorbah (R-Fr)
.9058 DJ Harris (Fr)
.9016 Jordon Thomas (Fr)
.8900 Jacoby Jones (Sr)
.8833 David Abiara (Fr)
TRSF Ray Thornton (Sr)
TRSF Ovie Oghoufo (Jr)
TRSF Ben Davis (Sr)

We lacked depth here, but we added 3 freshman and 3 transfers to the mix and it looks a lot better.

Linebackers
.9737 Demarvion Overshown (Sr)
.9475 Ayodele Adeoye (Jr)
.9313 David Gbenda (So)
.8944 Terrence Cooks (Fr)
.8933 Morice Blackwell (Fr)
.8856 Marcus Tillman (Jr)
.8701 Jaden Hullaby (R-Fr)
TRSF Devon Richardson (Jr)

Demarvion is a beast.. originally a safety that spun down and is very good. TBD who the 2nd guy is.. but I like our depth here too..

So help me understand. We aren’t Alabama.. I know that much.. but where is Texas lacking in the trenches?

Inflated rankings for most of the “depth” on that team. They never have, and never will amount to shite at Texas

The last first round draft pick for Texas? Vince Young, many years ago

That was on offense. I’m listing mostly defensive guys.. we can look at each of their offers if you like. Alabama, LSU and/or A&M offered most of them.

I didn’t realize we were going to list walk ons too..
Either way, ok you guys have more OL than Texas. If you use more than half of those guys in a season, (other than mop up duty) something has gone terribly wrong.

Wasn't a "uterus shaped endzone" a topic on the Net a few years ago?

I think I’d you remove the Walk Ons we are close on online. But our D line numbers are comparable to the o line. While yours you lack depth there. It will take a couple years to have experienced numbers on d line I would bet.

But hey. Maybe not. That’s just what we experienced. Maybe your guys are all SEC right outta the gate.

True. They don’t swap out o line that much. But if this is the size of our o line which we don’t swap out a lot our defensive numbers are far just as great.

Bottom line it will take time to have this many linemen of this size and ability. But you will get there. For sure.

TBD I guess.. if we are truly running only 2 lineman out there, then we may already be in good shape. If we are running more of a 3-3-5, then we may run into more problems. Hard to say with a new DC right now, but I expect our DL to be a strength this year.
