Oh, my love.
They aren’t.
But I’ll gv3 you a hug for your ridiculous idea.
Come see me in Texas; you’re always welcome.

Part of the issue with the perception is the ridiculous Longhorn Network.

That doesn't mean the rest of the country who is on a conference network won't think you're a bunch of fricking chodes for it, lol.
It plays in to part of the perception that Texas is entitled and ruins conferences.

I love the state of Texas (except Austin) and all its schools (except the po-dunk college in Austin).

And if joining the SEC means we leave it behind, so be it. But people that get bent out of shape over a tv network that makes no difference to other schools and that fans would love to have given the opportunity, never ceases to make me laugh.

This whole thing wasn't about what was morally, financially, or logically the right move for UT. It's about every sports fan I've interacted with has thought Texas was a cut above their peers in delusions of grandeur, and we all find that funny.
No one is bent out of shape, especially people on the SECRant who don't have to deal with Texas yearly. It's a thing to poke fun of and troll about. You really don't need to justify the actions of administration from a fiscal point of view. We all get it, it's just funny to watch Texas constantly shoot itself in the foot in the biggest moneymaking sport. Or to hear every UT fan online for years feel obligated to be anti-SEC, and then "lol jk, you know how it is" when Texas joins the conference.
Texas has a lot of upside and I'm dreading the day they figure out whatever weird bullshite is going on with their football program, and address whatever resources they need to invest properly in basketball (if they're not already and are just getting unlucky with hires. I admittedly don't know).
Looking forward to seeing how your baseball season plays out.

Yeah, being forced to ride the coattails of a former rival and follow them to their conference must be a tough pill to swallow since it's obvious now how much things have changed.
Atleast the school in Austin has adults that can make the tough decisions by swallowing their pride.

Dude in all seriousness, 95% of us on here are just fricking around. The other 5% or the very worst of the fanbase.
Although a notorious Bama hater on here, in real life, I have as many bama fans that are good friends as LSU fans. My dad was drinking buddy of Bear Bryant, and he hated LSU with a passion because he was good friend with Archie Manning who lived next to us in married student housing. My son went to Auburn, and both of my next door neighbors are Auburn grads. My daughter goes to Texas, her best friend goes to Texas A&M. I have two degrees from Ole Miss, one from LSU and played football one Spring with Ole Miss and my brother played at LSU over Ole Miss only because my Father died when I was 18. Nick Saban was a good friend of my stepdads and personally send a really nice flower spread to his funeral. Hell the owner of this site lives in Houston.
We are all cousins, friends , etc in real life. This is just a outlet to vent, get info and to start up shite. It’s just for fun. It was all started because the regular fan boards were stale and didn’t allow anyone to talk shite, be critical of their own team, etc.
We are all one dysfunctional family.
Don’t take any of this shite seriously, it’s just for fun.
And yes, Texas is a great state, and has a lot of great things going for it.
If you go to games and meet real fans and alumni you will see all of this. If you run into me, I will be glad to buy you a drink, etc.

I don't believe anything is like it is online, but that's where the bulk of my conversation with informed and invested sports fans occurs. I don't know if you've noticed, but that's where we are right now, so it seems relevant to the discussion.
