Not that simple.

I agree, obviusly both could have done better and specially Strong was given more than a fair chance; but he wasn't a total incompetent and did have relative succes at other places. Same can be said of Herman though a shorter career. Winning in Texas is not simple either.

He hires Charlie Strong, his philosophies were destined to fail in the Big12 as well. Now you’re 5 years removed from a national title but you’re desperate to remove yourself from mediocrity. Charlie & The AD are fired, we have an interim AD in place and we rush a Tom Herman hire to intercept LSU. Tom recruits well but his initial hires were terrible and his teams consistently play down to competition. It was basically a series of bad leadership decisions from the coaching level up to the administration.

And you hired a head coach that Mississippi State said thanks for the interview but we will keep looking.

I don’t think there’s a AD ranking system in place but Del Conte is held in very high regard in AD circles. Super intelligent man. He’s really made a huge impact on our athletic department. We have a championship caliber baseball program. We have a championship caliber basketball program. It’s hard to make much predictions about our football team, but Texas could enter 2022 with a three headed monster.

Poor horns couldn’t afford a basketball arena

You keep bringing up this false narrative. You rent a piece of shite $36 million dollar arena. The moody center is 10x that much money little bro. Do yall even have a basketball program anymore? I honestly don't remember seeing Aggy in a televised game since Acie Law left.

It’s the prime example of the financial difficulties you guys have been having

You don’t own that arena, in fact you had four capital campaigns that failed to reach 1/10 of the money needed to build the arena and so you had to get someone else to do it for you in exchange for all the revenue and ownership for the next 35 years. There is nothing that’s been more embarrassing for any power five program than that in the last 25 years

I think people focus too much on our short comings without analyzing how a blue blood program in the state of Texas only won 10 games once in 9 years. To summarize it, I would basically say Texas had an alignment issue. It all started with Mack’s loss to Saban in 2010. He had an idiotic reactionary response to his QB being injured in a national title game. He tried to implement a pro style offense in a state where highschool ball is 95% spread/air raid systems. We did not have the personnel to do it. Mack’s recruiting strategy wasn’t consistent to the style of play he wanted to implement either. It was obviously going to fail, especially playing in a league that can bury you on the scoreboard every week. Our AD steps down. We bring in some bum who try’s to monetize every aspect of our athletic program, i think students were paying full price admission. He hires Charlie Strong, his philosophies were destined to fail in the Big12 as well. Now you’re 5 years removed from a national title but you’re desperate to remove yourself from mediocrity. In other words you are trying to find an excuse to why Texas sucked for so long with plenty of money or not getting enough money!

Texas is Nebraska Light. They both used to be national powers. They are now the Yasmine Bleeth's of the college football world.

Texas of the past......

Texas of the present.......

Oak View Group is funding the construction, and will manage the building at its cost in exchange for the right to most of the income from non-UT events, such as concerts and shows.

Putting the 2010 Big 12 title on Kyle Field. It's seriously the same thing as putting the 2020 SEC championship on your stadium. Pathetic

Why is the big focus on Texas coming in, at least as far as football goes, they are small potatoes.

Because it's not about football, at least as far as problems go.
