Dude, you are a UTA reject that claims a degree from the UT system. Either that or the quality of Austin grads has deteriorated tremendously.

Are these places really that unlike Norman? Genuine question because I’ve never been to Norman, but given that it’s right smack in the middle of all of those locales you mentioned, I have a hard time believing it’s much different.

I don't have a problem with them in the abstract. Good friend is a Yale grad that roots for Wisconsin (where he's from) just because Yale is a nothing in football (and he played there).
It's when they get into the "WE are better than your school" crap.
One year, after Texas had beaten A&M on bird day, I walked into the office the next Monday right into a group of about 6 guys giving me crap about how good Texas was and how "they" kicked our arse and all that. I let them go on for a while, then reminded them that, of all the people in this conversation, I was the only one that actually attended and graduated from Texas.

Most of the "actual" Texas grads I know are great people. If you actually did attend the school as you claim, you should probably act like it from time to time. It's the t-shirt fans of the school that are annoying. I know nothing about the younger generation to come out of Austin - but that woke shite is startling.

Meh. He gives crap on here. Can't say I've seen it be any worse than the swamp kittens.
I just have to be honest with the fact that I still harbor some pretty strong resentment from that bastard DeLoss Dodds being such an arse when we left. Taints the whole thing.

Dodds is an arse for certain, but he actually did us a favor if you look at it objectively. A&M could not have become what it is now if we had stayed in the BDF. Texas honestly had too much power.
It will be interesting to see how they handle being just another team and not the Kingpin.

Thx for the explanation. I never understood the hatred for t-shirt/sidewalk fans. I’m happy for all fans to be cheering for my school, graduates or not, but I’ve certainly encountered a few people like you described and it was annoying. Smile and move on.
