No, Nebraska weaseled around saying it was because of the Longhorn Network, too, and not sharing money equally.

But Nebraska was famous for having annual pay-per-view games and keeping the proceeds.

They also supported single-school networks over a conference network.

Missouri has been trying to leave for the Big 10 since the 1990s.

Looking out for your best interest is now being broke? How dumb of a take is that. Rich people stay rich because they make smart business decisions.

They are concerned that A&M to sought a better financial deal than what the Big 12 offered. It was ok for other conference members to do it, but they are still upset at A&M.

Nobody is concerned at all. Just stop lying about why you left and be honest. Same with Mizzery. They were broke as well.

OU tried to bolt from the Big 12 also, but couldn’t get it done. Or did you forget?

So Nebraska, who left the Big 12 2 months before the Longhorn Network launched and announced their move 6 months before the Longhorn Network was announced, said it was because of the Longhorn Network?

Nebraska joined the Big Ten in 2011, not 2012.

If we ever wanted to leave the BIG XII by ourselves, we could do it quite easily.

Does this sound like a rich school?

In late 2008, the Texas A&M athletic department was scrambling to meet an ominous deadline.

The department had less than a year before it was to begin repaying a $16 million loan arranged by previous A&M President Robert Gates and athletics director Bill Byrne. The loan gave the department four years to use university money to shore up budget shortfalls, and the first payment was due in the fiscal year that starts Sept. 1, 2009.

But the department was facing two more years of projected deficit spending, and finance officials expressed concern that something needed to be done, records show.

Interviews with university and athletic department officials, along with e-mails obtained by The Eagle through a Texas Public Information Act request, depict the financial equivalent of a frantic fourth-quarter drive to get the athletic department into the black. Officials now expect a balanced budget for 2009-10, but 10 months ago they weren't so optimistic.

Many employees of A&M's division of finance, as well as some athletic department officials, expressed concern about the athletic department's fiscal responsibility. Financial officers cited poor revenue projections, a lack of interest in oversight or controls and an inability to control rising expenses as reasons that the program had problems the past three years.

Ousted Big 12 Commissioner Dan Beebe says he touted equal revenue sharing and members granting their television rights to the conference years ago, but the schools — and not just Texas — liked the idea of being able to start their own networks.

Beebe said in interviews with The Associated Press and ESPN that Oklahoma, Nebraska and even Texas A&M were interested in the idea of starting some type of network for their sports programs.

"Nebraska was one of the biggest objectors of equal revenue rights, and their president Harvey Perlman said that. We could have done this two years ago and none of this would have happened.''

Being a wallflower for what? The league is doing fine, and so are we.

I will tell you, it was more about the unequal revenue sharing in place before the Longhorn Network. That's true, I misremembered events.

Nonetheless, Nebraska and A&M left while criticizing unequal revenue and signaling the virtues of their new conferences that shared equally.

Yet, as proven in my previous posts, Nebraska was against equal revenue sharing until they decided to leave (i.e., a hollow excuse)...

And aggy did the same thing, right on the heels of threatening to leave the Big 12 unless they got a bigger share of the pie, which would come from lesser schools.

You can argue these points until you are maroon in the face, but you'd be full of shite.

So you're of the opinion that the LHN has been some huge success in terms of exposure and recruiting for whorn?

No, it hasn't. What it did was prevent a conference network worth more than a pile of shite.

But, we're glad they gave us the excuse, because even with all members participating, any Big 12 network would have the viewer footprint of a chipmunk. So, they actually did us a huge favor by being asshats.

Don't you share an a athletic board with Oklahoma State?

I am sure they will just let you walk.

There was never any consensus on a conference network. Several teams wanted their own networks as well.

I'm happy we got one more of these threads in before the season starts and all of the UT alters/fans go away once they lose to LSU

Not that I know of. Might be. Which board are you talking about and what would a internet board have to do with us leaving if we chose to do so? We not going to leave because of a shared internet forum?

Which turned out to be a less-effective model because of the small footprint.

Another reason the asswipes were really stupid to give us a reason to leave.

I am just asking if Oklahoma can act independently from OSU and leave the B12 and head to another conference alone?

If so, cool. I heard that was not the case.
