Losing to MS State 3x in a row should be punishable by law.

Johnson is a former Texas Longhorns commit who flipped to Texas A&M, then led by Kevin Sumlin, late in the recruiting process. He was a 247Sports Composite five-star recruit and the No. 3 wide receiver in the country out of Dallas Skyline High. Johnson caught 30 passes for 339 yards and a touchdown in 10 games in 2012. But days after the Aggies beat Alabama on the road, Johnson disappeared mysteriously.

quote:

Thomas Johnson's murder trial began Monday and and was tied up shortly thereafter after a jury found him guilty of killing 53-year-old Daniel Stevens under a Texas overpass while he was jogging in October 2015.

Jury deliberations lasted less than 30 minutes according to the Star-Telegram after the defense called no witnesses to the stand.

“Police say a cyclist witnessed Johnson chopping at Stevens’ prone body on White Rock Creek Trail in East Dallas, and that the former wide receiver later confessed to killing the 53-year-old mechanical engineer,” according to the Associated Press. Johnson reportedly called police and turned himself in after the tragic event.

Johnson’s relatives told a judge that he received a schizophrenia diagnosis prior to the murder. After a judge originally deemed him not competent to stand trial and committed him to a psychiatric hospital in 2016, court records show a “fit for trial” change last June. Johnson is expected to use an insanity defense, the AP writes.

This is a really sad story.

I appreciate the smack effort, but this one is sort of bad form, don't you think?

Thomas Johnson was a legit schizophrenic who was not a part of the A&M football program when this happened. Please tell me you dont actually think that is similar.

And, his victim was a random stranger. It also caused the victim's wife to commit suicide a few weeks later.

Really a fricked up, sad situation.

But, these goons must have at it. So, whatever.

Not that I care, but Hernandez had mental disorders and was not a part of the florida program when his murder happened...

Mental issue/schizophrenia vs character issue.

Texas would have/wanted to sign the kid, prior to his breakdowns no one had issues with the young man until his imbalances kicked in.

Mental health is a severely unappreciated problem in this country. Sad story/situation.

On a side note, I ran into a guy at the store a few years ago that I couldn't place the name, but the face looked familiar. John Hinkley Jr. Guy tries to kill Reagan, effectively kills Brady... 35 years later he's picking out fricking apples next to me? Prison or death penalty isn't the answer, but locked up for life in a mental health facility sure is.

Exactly.

Had Aggy been around for that mess, they'd be the first ones to rip Florida for it.
