All kinda smoke. I was wondering if you guys were talkin' about it over here. 18 pages is pretty impressive.

Just talked to a friend of mine whose grandfather is a big A&M booster... Said it's nearing completion. And then the same from a coworker who is on one of y'alls paysites (I don't know which one, doesn't Tex Ags have an insider part?
)
Like I said, TIFWIW.

Tweets from Luicci who has been the most conservative over the last year reporting on this from the Ag side
Also said the B12 is likely in breach of contract so A&M likely won't pay exit fees

: One final B12/SEC point of interest: Texas has ZERO intention of not airing HS games this fall and FULLY intend to air Big 12 game on LHN
More facts: A&M has not sent a "letter of intent" or "Dear John" letter to Big 12, SEC is not targeting OU or any other B12 schools
Facts: Ags still hold SEC invite (always have), SEC will take A&M as 13th team and, IF deal done this month, TAMU would play in SEC in '12

I don't want A&M, things are perfect the way they are. Why should we change what is working? We dominate in every sport.

My stance has always been this:
I won't really believe any SEC rumors until I really start hearing them from SEC sites.
Oh, and as for the rumor I won't yet believe, it's A&M only. No OU, no Mizzou, no other Big XII team.
We'll see.

I keep changing my mind. On one hand, I would love to have additional prestigious programs in the SEC (I'm referring to A&M, frick Mizzou). On the other, we've won the past 5 BCSNCG, the past 3 CWS, and we have a couple teams who make regular appearances in the Final Four. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
The addition of A&M in the West isn't as exciting to me as possible additions in the East.
Clemson? Florida State? How cool would that be.

the problem is you're working from the hidden assumption that team c is only going to generate a certain amount of income without showing how that is actually the case.
Yes, it is an assumption, but it is an assumption based on reason and not ignorant bullshite. Let's see, A&M vs GaTech.
A&M: #2 school in TX, no other SEC teams in state. very large population state.
GaTech: #2 school in GA, #1 school is SEC and very close by. Good population state. AU, FSU, Clemson are practically on the border.
Which school would be more valuable business wise? I'm not going to prove it, but reason dictates A&M, and even MO. If you want to say GaTech is, then you are making a choice that must be explained with reason, not hope and dreams.

I'd venture to guess the addition of A&M by itself will allow Slive to renogotiate the TV contracts and bump up each school's annual TV payment from $18mil to $20mil or so.

and maybe even get a real tv network up and running

I guess this means the Aggies will be chanting "SEC!" at us this year in JerrahWorld.

Talked to someone who said he is hearing "imminent". Things can always change, but looks like it may happen soon. Other team doesnt appear to be Big 12. I am hoping it is Va Tech.

14 teams seems too big. 2 games against the other division?

adding OU, A&M, FSU, and VT would be my dream scenario.
i think we end up w/ Mizzou, A&M, FSU, and Clemson.

I'm thinking 9 conference games.... 6 against your division, 3 cross-division (one of which is permanent)
not a huge change, just one extra conference game.

I think adding both Texas A&M and Mizzou make good business sense....adding 4 huge TV markets (Dallas #5, Houston #8, St. Louis # 21 and Kansas City #31) in 2 states where the SEC currently has no team.

Drop Auburn, keep Tennessee as a permanent cross-division rival.

16 teams is far too big.
