It was really a perfect storm. By the 4th the D was completely gassed, the last TD was just stupid. So glad the Ags found a way to pull it out in the end.

I believe we used a total of 15 players on defense.

Manziel with the legendary tackle and forced fumble

Trust me, as a tiger fan, I know about not showing up for smaller opponents. But damn, aTm had some up and down games last year. They definitely improved as the season went on. I am still not sure how to judge them this year.
9-3 and 3rd in west IMO. Defense is too young and will get run over. I have said all along that Sumlin can be another Petrino or he can be Spurrier. The difference will be, can he field an SEC defense....

What's finny is if you go back and read the game thread, the entire site got into our thread when the game was close, left after the manziel run, than came back in for the 2 pt conversion, then left after that failed

Yup, and they ran 100+ plays. Our D was exhausted

I concede - you obviously know football.
Is there any other QB in the Nation that chases that guy down and hammers the ball out?
Answer No. QBs stare.
Any concern anyone has about JFF's commitment to the team needs to watch that play. Dude would be Honey Badger if a DB.

I just don't see how we lose to anyone but bama or LSU

This really was the game I worried about at the beginning of the season (besides Bama and LSU) because of their ability to throw the ball around. Our secondary has been very suspect over the last few years so I new this was going to be a dog fight. The Ole Miss game was just a big WTF?!

Standard, and I'm sure it will be 10x worse this year.

Up and down games? Yea we had two of them. We turned the ball over 6 times and still beat Ole Miss on the road and this game. Those are the two games that stand out in addition to the two losses.
You should really focus on our recruiting. We will have young players playing on the defensive side f the ball this year, but in 1-2 years, I expect our defense to be pretty damn good. We are recruiting at a high level on the DL and secondary. Time will tell, but its not like we are just recruiting a bunch of offensive playmakers to run our system.

I don't disagree, but this is what makes the SEC tough. SEC west is always good for a few surprise upsets.

Taping the replay but if I remember the refs trough lots of pass interfearance penalties in the second half so the defense had to back off and bingo, a free for all thanks to the refs.

I wouldn't count on it. The biggest upset game we have is at ole miss and I don't expect to turn the ball over 6 times again. Not saying we won't get upset, but its not big enough a probability to straight up predict 3 losses
And we are bringing in the right players to have a very good defense in the future. Obviously depends on the coaching but we are getting the players and should have a good defense in a few years

Yeah Patton came alive in the second half. I still shutter when I here that name. Kid is nails.

Two defensive starters out + Offensive type we saw only once all year + Game lasting almost five hours = The end result
With a breakdown like this you should look into coaching.

Arkansas is only one year removed from essentially the same season we had. Don't underestimate the upgrade from John Lol Smith to Bielema. I think that one, not Ole Miss, will be our third-toughest game this year.

Playing a neutral site game with a team like La Tech should be below A&M

So suspensions, injuries, and refs....does that about cover it? How was the weather? Was the field sloppy?
