Maybe I'm missing something, but:

I was pretty surprised to see, if I understand the new tiebreaker rules, that A&M has a pretty good shot at winning a three way tie with Alabama and Auburn for the SEC West championship representative (assuming all three teams finish 7-1 and lose to each other):

If I understand the new rule since the playoff, the last tiebreaker is now the combined record of teams played in the other division, and no longer the BCS ranking:

A&M: Record of South Carolina and Florida (currently 5-3)
Auburn: Record of Missouri and Georgia (currently 3-3)
Alabama: Record of Tennessee and Vanderbilt (currently 0-5)

Auburn could win it, but probably not Alabama. A&M with a good shot at it.

The A&M mid-season collapse is coming so we won't have to worry about this.

Why don't you come back to the penalties thread? Made yourself look like an idiot and hightailed it

Only if Sumlin takes the team on a field trip.

Would the tickets and trip be a permissible benefit?

well A&M is losing to Auburn and LSU, so this wil all be moot. The West will come down to the IB. And your tie-breaker scenario is 7th on the list (last)

And the tie-breaker is:
A. Combined head to head record among the tied teams;

B. Record of the tied teams within the division;

C. Head to head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place);

D. Overall Conference record against non divisional teams;

E. Combined record against all common non divisional teams;

F. Record against the common non divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through other common non divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and

G. Best cumulative Conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents (Note: If two teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, then the two-team tiebreaker procedures apply. If four teams are tied, and three teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, the three-team tiebreaker procedures will be used beginning with 2.A.);

I have my doubts. Don't let a win in the swamp against a depleted and hobbled Florida team rejuvenate your confidence in O. LSU is not a good football team and it will be on full display when Saturday

A&M won't beat LSU, and LSU sucks. A&M surely isn't beating Auburn.
