The more I think about it, the happier I am that the AAS published this article.

Because it makes you wonder, what is the need for them to be making this comparison?

Since A&M is still challenged trying to establish a real Journalism program (in 2023? really?), I'll help you out.

Most daily "newspapers" rely on the national and international media (NY Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, BBC, etc.) for the majority of their national/international content. The local newspapers tend to generate local content.

Them choosing to reprint stories generated by others does not mean they wrote the articles, just that they reprinted them. The authors of the article are properly credited at the top.
