didn't say it would happen overnight. i don't see A&M being at all competitive with the big boys in the SEC for at least five, probably closer to ten years.

but there's no doubt in my mind that we can and probably will be down the road if we make the right moves.

arky has had multiple shots to win the SEC.

and i see little reason why A&M's potential five or ten years from now is less than that of the pigs.

Is that what you told UF pre Spurrier? Is that what you tried to tell Curly Hallman?

1995 - #2 Florida vs. #23 Arkansas

Florida wins 34-3

2002 - #4 Georgia vs. #22 Arkansas

Georgia wins 30-3

2006 - #4 Florida vs. #8 Arkansas

Florida wins 38-28

Arkansas is averaging getting outscored in the SECCG 34-11. They've played a Big Six opponent each time.

See the pattern here?

I was born in 1989 so I don't remember pre-Spurrier.

Florida has won three national championships since 1996. Texas A&M has won one since 1939. I don't see the Aggies becoming the new Florida

LSU's history was well established before their run in the 1990s. They were still a power program before the 1990s.

The SEC doesn't need Texas recruits
Alabama already has a QB recruit from Texas.

Meh, they backed in to the SECCG, and each time they got whipped. They have been in the SEC for twenty years and never finished top 10.

With the right coach, Aggs can be successful much earlier than that. You will get(I think) the players, but to compete in SEC you need a top coach.

They've been to the SECCG three times since joining in '92, and got handled every time. Btw, one of the appearances only came because Alabama was on probation that year.

3 years from when we joined to first title game appearance.

7 years until our next appearance

4 years until our next appearance.

???

Looks like we're going to the SEC Title Game in 2014.

they've won or been co-champs of the SEC west 4 times in the past 16 years. they've at least had shots at the championship three of those times.

A&M in the SEC is a whole new dynamic for the school and its recruiting. pretending that the aggies will be in a permanent underclass for eternity is silly.

You've got to beat Saban first.

Even if you make it, according to the pattern, you'll just get slaughtered anyways

Yes. Us making the SECCG twice with Nutt, is nothing short of a miracle.
