Listen to it . Dye was very evasive and admired to nothing. He knew what was going on, but the system was designed for “plausible deniability “. Many did not want him to resign because they felt the NCAA couldn’t pin anything on him, I think he has said that he should have fought it.

Flippant comment. Personally I wouldn’t have made. Not much different than Saban after ULM game, Saban’s coonass comment or Holtz comments at 2016 RNC. Don’t think it will be demise of Dabo.

Surely the bullshite in Terry's story fell into that category. The NCAA didn't come looking because it was bullshite. I was a student athlete at Auburn when we were handed our sentence and throughout it. There's no way they would be bold enough to continue that behavior, especially with coaches during that time. The AD was pretty strict in those days.
The NCAA didn't come looking because according to Bowden in the interview, he cleaned it up and put a stop to it. He said he had suspicions that Lowder was at it again, but didn't offer or have any proof.
He then linked his firing of the bagman coach and others to his firing.
So the only proof he had to offer was from 8 year prior, and then the other conditions according to Bowden didn't exist because he stopped it.
I'm pretty sure if Bowden had somekind of proof that Lowder was back at it again and had direct information as he was leaving, the NCAA would have acted.
Overall Bowden paints a picture of him cleaning up the Auburn program to the ire of Lowder and other boosters. Pretty sure the point of the interview was more about him and why he was fired rather than Auburn's actual cheating.

The NCAA didn't come looking because they knew the story was bullshite. It was written by Paul Davis, who had a long running feud with the University and Bobby Lowder. Back then the press had to have confirmation and proof before they ran with a story, like today, Davis ran with the story because it fit his narrative. Lowder had shut down one of Davis's newspapers and he spent the rest of his life trying to take him down.
You are forgetting, Bowden claimed to have proof in a form of a ledger. He could never produce it. He was a predecessor to Michael Avenatti, both were slimy people with law degrees.

Just asking because I’m not from Alabama but wasn’t Lowder part of a banking scandal?

It's amazing how everything regarding Auburn payoff scandals is bullshite (Camgate, Lowdergate, Dyegate and a host of others), and YOU have the answer for ALL of them.
By the way, what about that ban bet regarding my "alter"? I can see you trying to fade back into the woodwork!

Colonial Bank had some Federal issues and was eventually bought out by BB&T, but that had nothing to do with Auburn.

Airbnb, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings by pointing out how big a redneck you are, but I love how you want AU scandals to be true. Too bad they do not match the "staring down the barrel of a gun" scandal of Logon Young and Al Means. Hell, all of AU's probation restrictions are less than those 21 Scholarships they took because of Means. Of course it still must chap your arse that the NCAA complimented AU on how they handled the Cam issue.

Colonial Bank had some Federal issues and was eventually bought out by BB&T, but that had nothing to do with Auburn.
"Lowder was Chairman of the Board and CEO of Colonial BancGroup, positions he held for 25 years. In 2006, his total compensation was $2.77 million and his five-year compensation total was $11.23 million, making him one of the 50 most highly compensated banking executives in the United States at that time.[3] He retired from Colonial Bank on May 28, 2009, but remained on the Board of Trustees at Auburn University.
Colonial BancGroup was reported to be under Federal investigation for possible criminal activities of its financial dealings in its mortgage subsidiary in August, 2009,[4] and on August 14, 2009, Colonial Bank was shut down by banking regulators, with its deposits and branches purchased by BB&T.[5]"
Hell, back then Lowder ran Auburn's athletic dept. and everybody knew it.
This is just another example of you trying to pass chickenshit as chicken salad.
PS-what about that ban bet?...cat got your tongue?

I do not think his resignation would keep him out of jail during that period. The DOJ was looking for a pound of flesh from anybody moving during that time.

Here's the sacrificial lamb...now tell us Lowder knew nothing about any of it!
"On June 17, 2011, Catherine Kissick, a former senior vice president of Colonial Bank and head of Colonial Bank's Mortgage Warehouse Lending Division, was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by three years of supervised release on her March 2, 2011 guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to commit bank, wire and securities fraud (18 U.S.C.§ 1349) for her role in a more than $2.9 billion fraud scheme that contributed to the failures of Colonial Bank and Taylor, Bean & Whitaker (TBW). Restitution will be determined at a later date."

Obviously the Feds didn't think they had enough to prosecute. In the real world that is all that matters.

Icoach, I've got his nose just about up his own arse about now, with the two threads going at once. I don't want him stroking out or going home and kicking the shite out of his wife and/or dog, so I'm gonna back off him for today. I hope that I was able to provide some entertainment for you, and I'm sure I'll be taking him out for some more "fun n games" in the coming days, too. Have a good evening!
