That's going to end up being the rub. Either he was giving those reporters a bogus story, which shoots a huge hole in the "I didn't know" angle, or the reporters went way out on a limb and completely made it up. No one else would have the first hand information necessary to tell that story.

Don't underestimate his dad's role either, lotta quotes from him, which to me makes it seem more like the while thing was premeditated, but it also could be a crazy parent off the tracks.
