That's what I'm hoping the next turn in the story is. Manti's dad was actually his gf, but Manti had no knowledge about it.

Everything about this has been strange. Literally everything. The way I see it, at BEST, Te'o is absurdly stupid and has the naivety of a 6 year old. And that is the best case scenario for him.
