Why would he go into the portal? Nico is getting $2 million a year for ecru he stays at UT. He will be the starting QB next 2-3 years. And UT has just as facilities as anyone in the country as well as money.
Why would Nico leave everything he already had and take a chance on learning a new play book and getting beat out by someone that already knows the play book? He has no reason to leave.

The answer is kind of in your post.
If a player's motivation for coming to your school is primarily money, that means he can always be bought by someone offering more.
Will that happen? I doubt it. But if Bama offered him 2.5 million a year, do you really think he'd stay with UT?
I'd be scared of losing any player who got a big payday out of HS, just because he's likely motivated by the payday.

He not going to Bama to compete for the starting job when he is the starting QB next season at UT. Not saying he wouldn’t win the job, but he would have to learn a new playbook all over again against guys that have been there and already know it. Nico will be the next great UT QB.
