This is a weird thread for this time of year
Oh. Prayers sent.
Idk if I would go that far, but it would be nice for Bama to have a cross division opponent worth a shite for a change

Were you saying this when Tennessee was beating us almost every year??
And your cross conference rival is a team that Bama has beaten the dogshit out of the last 6 times we've played them.

I’ve always been against cross division permanent opponents

How many of those games were in Gainesville?
It hasn’t always been Alabama related but LSU has twice not gone to Atlanta even though they beat the team that won the division because of a loss to Florida while the West winner had soft as silk eastern division opponents.

I guess LSU should've beaten Florida those years.

Again, you numbskulls demonstrate that your answer to every problem in life, from LSU not being successful to getting laid off at work, is “It’s Alabama’s fault!” When permanent opponents were decided Bama stepped up and took Tennessee, who is the historical beast of the East. Florida, at the time, was probably ranked ahead of only Vandy and South Carolina. When the conference went from two permanents to one, we dropped Vandy in favor of keeping the Vols. If you want to be mad at someone for Tennessee falling off a cliff, why not focus your ire on Tennessee themselves? Why do you see them as a victim in this scenario?

In terms of the age of the SEC. That cross division stuff is a baby.
UT and Bama play every year.
Auburn and UGA play every year.
Bama and Auburn play every year.
That ain't gonna change for nobody.

Or instead we could just have a balanced scheduling policy so teams don’t have an extended built in advantage over others.
You know, like every other league in every other sport in the world.

all I am saying is, I am 51 years old, and the 3rd Saturday in October has always been a fun day, It hasn't for a while, I could really give a shite who wins.. but it would be nice for it to be a big game.
Actually looking at BAMA's schedule this year, they also need Tennessee to be better.

Impressive the hoops you people will jump through to deflect the very reasonable position that the SEC should, like ever other sports league IN THE WORLD, have a balanced scheduling policy.

Nobody seems to remember that Tennessee pushed Bama’s shite in for a decade. They went 10-1 from 1995 to 2006 vs Alabama. It’s not our fault karma caught up to them, Fulmer’s sins came home to roost and they suck now.

If Bama has finished 11-1 but gotten left out due to their schedule (a very real possibility) we may have finally gotten some traction

That doesn’t matter. Its not about Bama or who is good/bad right now. It’s about competitive balance for the whole league.

Lol downvoters have no argument, they can only go to ad hominem attacks or argue off the point.

Hmmmm. The Big XII decided not to protect traditional rivalries like OU-Neb when they put that league together. How did that end up working out for them?
Posted on 12/14/19 at 10:30 am to TheTideMustRoll
Is your position that Nebraska would still be in the Big 12 if they played Oklahoma every year?

I’m sorry. I misspoke when I asked why you considered Tennessee to be the victim in this scenario. I should have immediately realized that you consider yourself to be the victim, as is the usual mode of thinking nowadays. Carry on screaming at the sky if it helps you work out those difficult emotions.
