Not sure why you think this decision helps Tennessee. Aside from avoiding tDeathPenalty.

If there is no forthcoming NIL regulation, and boosters can pay for players, then the real UT will be among the few perennial favorites, and we're not talking about hillbillies.

Thankfully, most admistrators and coaches are smarter than the stupid fans that think the college game would survive long term without regulation.
