The case with this kid getting into UT has been ongoing for years. Fulmer actually was talking with him at one point.
Hood is going to get an academic scholly and given a shot to walk on. This is more to do with UT's laws than Kiffin (who does not have a choice in the matter, at this point)
No, the UT fans who are aware of this kids previous actions wish he was not going to be on the team, I would say the majority are not aware of him currently and when they find out, it may get out of hand.

Hood has worked out a deal to attend the university (people are still wondering how that happened). Anyone can walk on, it's up to Kiffin at that point to tell him to piss off.
BTW I am completely against this. I for one do not think this guy served punishment for his crimes. He got away with being labeled a sex offender which would have denied him the ability to go to UT.

im not saying the number will be huge but i bet at least a few will be ok with him. They seem a bit throwed off on volnation anyways and someone that seemed to be a reasonable poster he is defending the kid. so you never know.
fwiw if this was on the rant and about him trying to get into LSU id guess a few would be ok. You will always have some bad apples in big fanbases
