I mean, this is what Judkins did to Ole Miss. He kept trying to renegotiate after making an agreement, over and over. Kiffin finally got sick of it, plus he was a cancer. Ohio State got him for less money, but he got a ring. He would have helped us a lot!
Some of these kids have too many advisors and zero loyalty.

Judkins was ELITE though. If Ole Miss had Judkins last season they make the playoff. Judkins at Ohio State gave them a true two headed RB monster.

I'm calling bullshite on the $4 million. I do think Nico wants to leave Tennessee and will leave.

I think we can all agree that this current state of NIL just absolutely sucks arse for the sport

I believe OSU wouldn't have won the championship if they didn't get Judkins.

People applauded the ability for players to get endorsement deals, sell merchandise, have autograph signings…. Anyone who was for collectives and players getting money deals before signing or after to transfer is where the NCAA was asleep at the wheel for 30 years or more.

What sucks is the schools not wanting player contracts. Trust and believe coaches don't want contracts b/c they want to have the flexibility to move on from players just like players can move on from a university.

The NCAA wasn't asleep at the wheel. They decided to cash in and not pay the players a dime until the wheels fell off. The wheels have fallen off. That's why the conferences need to move on from the NCAA ASAP.

I think that’s why no one is on Nico’s side from what I’ve seen. Dude is just not good enough to be demanding these numbers. He should be grateful for the money he’s getting.

How the heck he was rated a 5* as a HS recruit? Might it be on Heupel for not getting him to be one of the top quarterback.

He has the qualities, he just hasn’t taken that step yet. It was his first year at the helm and tbh Dylan Sampson showed out and carried the offense. The offensive calling made him more of a game manager and his numbers weren’t the best last season. This year we lost the running back the offensive schemed for and he could have balled out. Could have been a bust at the same time..who knows. At this point, most of us fans know as much as you.

I will gain a ton of respect for Tennessee and Heupel if they tell him to f*ck off

I don't believe the numbers at all. Saying Nico is asking for an outrageous raise serves Tennessee's interests. I think Nico simply wants to leave and money isn't the motivation. If you've been around Californians they really like Cali. And, Samoans are super family oriented and Nico's little brother is at UCLA.

I think at this point that’s what’s going to happen. The radio guys were saying UT basically said nahhh. It would be vastly different if he went out there and pulled a Joe Burrow. But, at this point I think too much damage has been done for him to be back next year.

I believe so too. Bad advice and then now having to start over definitely hurt his stock in the long run which he could have tripled making it to the NFL

Its likely he’s gone. But if they do agree on a deal its amazing how agents have PR firms they pay to mend fences. Seen this too many times in NFL. Both sides will claim rumors that weren’t true and a minor issue was culprit (like claim he wanted his oline to get more money or some BS to spin and make him seem like the good guy).

True, but coach could have come out today saying he wasn’t feeling well or needed some time…something. Wouldn’t have to have a PR team. The thing that is tarnished are with the fans. And as you’ve seen, some UT fans are a bit outrageous. But, in this scenario, you are playing with your audience that legitimately support you and you make more than 90% of them do, that come to cheer you on. That’s a HUGE hill to climb at this point.

Edit: I will add, that it has been said he does like Heupel and being at UT. I think it boils down to he got the wrong advice and this spiraled from there.

It’s making the rounds in Knoxville. A good source in the know on our local sports radio who has been right about A LOT dropped it. Said he notified Heup. And the Vols’ folks leaked this whole thing because negotiations were going nowhere.

Did he happen to say if Oregon was one of the schools that Nico’s people wanted? Do you know?

Just curious. Thanks.
