Really? Does it make a difference when the other team was wearing leather helmets in their only other championship?
Dude. Auburn and Georgia has the same number and Georgia is trending upward right now. Auburn is hanging tight with 4 losses a year on average.
But if you feel better about how your program is doing right now, good for you!

Anyway you look at it, the numbers are close. Auburn is the second best team in our state and must compete with Bama in everything. Georgia has all the political pull, all the resources any school could want and are HUGE underachieves. UGA just seems jealous of Auburn and how with much smaller resources we are at worst equal to UGA.

Not unkless you want to say Alabama has some magical huge advantages that keep Auburn from having the same number of National Championships. I mean, face it. Alabama has 17 and Auburn has 2? What huge advantage is Alabama taking advantage of that Auburn does nto hace access to?
No Georgia fan is seriously arguing that we have not underachieved. If that is your only argument....I concede. Georgia has underachieved. But if we have underachieved, you would think Auburn being so close to all those advantages we have....shouldn't Auburn have been taking advantage of them? We are huge underachievers so why hasn't Auburn done better?

No. Our last AD only wanted to recognize two. AU has had three undefeated seasons since UGA won the NC. Has made two NC Games in the last 7 years.
Your argument about recency is the same trollers use when they bring up the number of SECC Tulane and GT have.

Eh. He got it from Winsipedia. It counts all conference championships, not just SEC. If we are comparing programs I think it is legitimate. If we compare SEC accomplishments, it is another story.

Agree to disagree I think other conference championships from 80 plus years ago when multiple teams were claiming titles the same year shouldn't really be in the discussion.

Also in the season by season, we also acknowledge 1983, 1993, 2004.. (Page 172)...
What two years did UGA win it? 1980 and before the polls... so if Auburn has 2, UGA has 1...

Maybe. maybe not. I mean, I certainly won't recognize a National Championship my own school does not recognize, though.
Some Auburn fans were posting links to some NCAA web site naming National Titles. It showed Auburn with 5. It showed Georgia with 6. I am not going around claiming 6 when my own school only recognizes 2.
Maybe this explains a bit more about how I feel.
Hey, I agree that both schools are very, very close when it comes to achievements.

That's bullshite.
Auburn has 2 national titles as decided by major polls, and has 8 SEC titles, not 12. In fact, Auburn was tied with Georgia Tech, which hasn't been in the SEC since early 1960s, with 5 conference titles, as recently as 2004.

That is by the guidance of JJ. As a former player he did not want to recognize anything that wasn't from the wire services or BCS. All that can change with the New AD.

UCF is not in the SEC. AUs 3 undefeated seasons were against an SEC Schedule, not one SEC Game.
Bottom line is College Football is a "what have you done for me lately" Game. The majority of the fans were not even alive when UGA last won a NC. Remember Army has more NCs than Auburn and UGA combined.

This has to be one of the most fact-free threads I’ve ever seen. The fact that Auburn statistically is sending more graduates into the workforce than anyone in the SEC except Vanderbilt and the fact that we’ve won a national championship this millennium clearly bothered you enough to write a book about it.
