Damn that is some strong stank bait right there.

But FWIW, saying that people will only remember NC winners and not teams who has spectacular seasons is inaccurate, since we all vividly remember Auburn's 2004 season, which had as much controversy as the 2011 NC rematch.
Big difference is this: Auburn finished their season 13-0, ranked #2 in the nation behind USC, while LSU finished their season 13-1 ranked #2 behind the team that beat them in the national championship. Auburn never got their shot at crystal glory. 2011 LSU did and failed epically.

Perhaps LSU should take a leaf out of Alabama's playbook and play a cream puff schedule?
Now we're getting somewhere. Finally some honesty. Here's the problem I know you see but won't admit. LSU doesn't do the scheduling and weirdly enough
Don't answer, it's rhetorical.

The only "ostriching" that's taking place in this thread are the couple of LSU fans who want to believe anyone really cares about their 2011 SEC Championship. It is literally the most irrelevant SEC Championship in conference history.

perfect answer! We lost, so what? We're Bama! Roll tide!
Yeah…we lost. But when the teams ahead of us lost to inferior competition, it's only natural we move up. Sorry the voters didn't want to give you an inferior OSU team as your BCS National Championship opponent.

So LSU had nothing to do with scheduling those OOC games with Oregon and West Virginia in 2011?

So extreme controversy is never remembered in sports? I am done with the troll fest since we can't have an adult conversation in this thread.

Can anyone think of a more irrelevant SEC Championship in conference history?
I can't think of anything more irrelevant than winning the conference "Championship" and then being absolutely embarrassed by a division foe just a few weeks later on a much larger scale.

While admittedly controversial at the time of the selection show (even I admit to not wanting to play in the game at first), that game stopped being a controversy to everyone but LSU fans when Alabama crushed your beloved Tigers in their own back yard. It's quite obvious from the final score that Alabama deserved to be in that game.
Extreme controversy would be something like the 2004 college football season, a season in which you had 4 teams finish the regular season undefeated. That, and the fact OU was crushed in the national championship game, is why 2004 Auburn is so remembered by college football fans.

Yep. The "controversy" has been over since 1/9.

How did LSU get UGA instead of Bama?
I actually don't mind LSU always having strong schedules. Always means just more great games instead of boring blowouts.

I love how you 2 gumps keep trolling. Throw in the "failed epically" or whatever hoping LSU fans will really get angry. You kids with this "you mad" type of stuff. I'm laughing as I type.
2011 Bama failed epically at home in Tuscaloosa. They knew the scenario going in. 2 undefeated teams and only 1 will go to the NC. You know that was the case. You needed miracles, bias, and straight pimping by ESPiN to get a rematch. Had Okie not screwed up or gotten the shaft by the SEC centric BcS, you would be sitting back like a normal CFB fan saying "well we had our shot and lost at home".
Your "failure" is covered up by a do over, a mulligan.

Dominating the stat-line and losing by 3 points in overtime is not "failing epically". If it is, then we need to find a new set of adjectives for whatever 1/9 was.

How the hell did Bama dominate the stat line in the first game?
LSU nearly had 150 yards rushing. Bama didn't even have 100.
TOP was even.
Turnovers were even.
Penalties were even.
What world were you in when this game took place?

You mean the same Okie who had:
- Better SoS
- More ranked teams beat
- More teams with winning records beat (non biased)
- A conference championship (non biased)
You mean that same Okie?

Try to keep up, junior. The SEC schedule. You office in Birmingham somehow has Bama in the driver's seat for 2 years in a row with pathetic cross schedules. Yes, I know Tenn is a permanent. You think maybe they could make the other game worth a frick?
Nah, LSU playing UF and UGA makes sense to you, right? I agree with you though, LSU should do the Bama creampuff thing. Problem is, how do you get the SEC office to comply with that request?

Your definition of dominating a stat line is really off.

I suppose I'd have varying definitions. Leading in every category but one would quality in my mind, though.
My whole point was to point out that the outcomes were so drastically different that it's silly to suggest one is equal to the other.
Sho Nuff suggested that our 9-6 overtime loss was on the same level as their 21-0 loss with 5 first downs and crossing the 50 only once.
