LSU 2011 was better than a lot of those teams

DraconianSanctions said that 2011 was y'all's 5th or 6th best team all time.

came up with this list. No particular order. Any suggestions or changes??

7 will be the NC teams. After that, undefeated 2004 Auburn, and 2011 Lsu. That leaves one team that didn't win it to vye for the last spot. Of that, I'd go with choices between:

2002 Georgia 13-1
2009 Florida 13-1
2006 Lsu 11-2

I disagree.

But you could however put both on there. As they were both really good teams. LSU has had 4 really good teams. Alabama has had 5. Georgia 3.

Florida 3

I don't see how teams that didnt win the conference can be "best" teams

This pretty much makes it the best LSU team of all time.

I think 01/09/12 settled the question as to who had the better team that year.

Good post and agreed. I'd put that 2006 LSU squad up against many teams at the end of the season.

08 UF is still the best team I've ever seen.

Interesting. Going 1-1 means you were definitively the better team? Playing less games and paying a weaker schedule?

Yes, 21-0 is a no doubt win over 9-6. That doesn't mean that was no doubt the better team. Had normal things played out, Bama would've crushed VT and LSU would've beat up Okie. We should have never even seen a do over/rematch/second chance/mulligan.

Try as you might, you can't wipe away the previous 13 (12 for Bama) games.

20 years from now, no one will remember anything about LSU's 2011 season, except LSU fans and SEC fans who remember the asswhipping that was distributed at the hands of Alabama on 1/9.

Alabama was definitively the better team, and the only people who argue otherwise are LSU fans.

They certainly had a better game-plan, but I still think LSU had the better team.
