Mingione just hired him as assistant coach. Looks like he's been coaching the Mustard Buzzards. Played with Ming in Starkvegas. What's y'alls take? CNM is on the hot seat so is this too little too late or what?

It’s been a little while, but I think he was a catcher on the 2013 CWS runner-up team. If memory serves correctly, he was a great defensive catcher but didn’t have a great bat. I believe Mitch Slaughter started most games at catcher that season.

I have no knowledge on his coaching career though.

If he coached at the buzzards last season, that's a good testament. They nearly went to a Super.

Not sure how he’s been as a coach, but USM hasn’t been terrible. As a player he was just decent

He is a solid coach. He functioned as Southern's hitting coach this season and they scored a billion runs in that ole miss regional. Hit alot of bombs with some below average sized guys.

Yeah said he caught for y'all. Was hoping for some glowing reviews and that his recruiting prowess was going to turn this thing around. Sounds like Ming is helping a buddy out. I'll be shocked if we aren't looking for a brand new staff this time next year then.
