Has any other SEC team been in the Rose Bowl not as BCS or playoff game but as one of the participant teams in the Rose Bowl?
Ok just looked it up Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia are the only current SEC members to have appeared in the Rose Bowl as SEC Teams.
Alabama, Tulane, and Georgia Tech (all charter members of the SEC) also made appearances prior to the SEC being chartered.

Not power 5, but a few who are nevertheless considered pretty major, I would guess:
BYU
Boise St.
Navy
Air Force
South Florida
Connecticut

We play in 2018 in Charlotte so that will get crossed off soon.
I knew y'all had them soon, but it seems like that would have been at least a semi-regular match up at some point.

I can't believe Tennessee and WVU have not played before
Why? We don't have any real connection to WVU and it's not a game that would get fans to ooh and awe about. I know fans think there's some kind of connection due to stereotypes of hillbillies but West Virginia has more in common with Eastern, KY than East, TN. Very different cultures.

Everyone knew it would be too much moonshine in one place and feared for people's safety.
God have mercy on Charlotte.

The Tennessee-WVU was one that stuck out to me as well. I would have thought they had played several times already.
The number of SEC teams Virginia has not played is also surprising.

Exactly what I was thinking.

A Tennessee vs. West Virginia game would be one I would enjoy watching.
Nothing to do with stereotypes at all. I also enjoyed watching LSU vs West Virginia.
The UT-WVA is surprising to me just due the status of both teams and their relative proximity.

The loss of "Richt has lost control of..." void has to be filled by something.

My point is who sat down & matched each SEC school to every other school that existed...& why.

I went to stassen and looked it up for A&M. Took me all of 5 mins. I didn't have to go thru the encyclopedia brittanica or anything. Is that really so perplexing?

I stumbled across this article about Alabama
13 Teams Alabama Has never Played
I found a couple of these somewhat surprising.
That is what led me to posting the question to fans of other teams.
I was bored when I came across the Bama article, just not bored for long enough to try and compile a list for every SEC school on my on, but interested none the less.

I did not word this one well.
Any SEC team who has not played Virginia is surprising to me.
I will edit it.
