I love the early year bets(though usually never touch over/under during them). My worry about points though is Mullen calls like the Miss State game. Which means easy quick throws, a lot of runs, and the time goes off the clock quickly. Which will limit how much we score.

Some really good points here, thanks Straws.
I already liked Florida spotting the points but this cements it.
New HC.
New OC.
New offensive scheme.
New QB (RS Freshman, 3 passes to his name).
New starting RB.
Young, inexperienced OL.
Their best receiver is a transfer from Buffalo.
Their best TE is a true Sophomore.
True freshman at LT and every single edge rusher we have this year is a 5th year senior.
Every day that goes by convinces me more that we shouldn't lose this game unless our entire first string eats bad sushi the night before the game.

I just don't think Miami's defense can hold a candle to Mississippi State's -- and similarly the cowbells help them out a lot. This game won't be loud and the entire offense has a year in the system and know what to expect.
I think there are some serious questions regarding Miami's physicality at receiver, too. Having watched their Spring Game I noted that a walk-on DB wrestled the ball away from their starting WR.
We're going to move the ball -- if Michigan couldn't stop us, Miami won't, rain or not. Their offense will likely struggle the entire game and Florida will be pounding the rock almost every play.

Their best receiver is probably Thomas not the transfer. Kid can move, just not a true number 1 type of receiver. He is certainly the scariest player on their roster on offense though right now.

Thomas 2018: 35 receptions, 563 yards, 3 touchdowns.
K.J. Osborn 2018: 53 receptions, 892 yards, 7 touchdowns.
I'd expect Osborn gets more touches this season, too.
I didn't realize how undersized Miami's receivers were, to boot.
K.J. Osborn: 6'0'', 200 pounds.
Thomas: 5'10'', 180 pounds.

I don't bet, but if I did I'd put the farm on Florida beating the dogshit out of Miami. Great game to start the season.

They replaced the natural grass, with turf on that field a few years ago after that Penn St Vs. LSU bowl game. At least the turf won't look like it did then.
Because it's raining ........again.

Yea dude they are small as shite. As for the stats though, Miami's offense didn't get Thomas the ball nearly enough. That kid is very electric with the ball. I am a little surprised they didn't move him to the slot to exploit the middle of the field more with his size. Our receivers are massive in comparison. Both height and muscle. Jacob Copeland can probably bench double what their guys can

50% chance of rain in Orlando on Saturday. That's just a typical day in Florida. It could rain, it may not. Who knows. The field is grass-turf though, so they won't be making any divots if it does rain.
The over/under is 48 and moving a little. I think we'll score over 30 points... so it'll be close to the line.
Just enjoy the week. Stop being doomsday for once. It's getting super old. Next thing I know, you'll make a Fire Dan Mullen thread if this game is closer than expected.

Our DBs are about the same size as their WRs.
Henderson is 6'01'', 200 pounds.
Wilson is 6'00'', 190 pounds. Either one of them are going to merk Thomas on the line.
shite, even if they move him to slot, Dean is 6'3'', 194 pounds.

Straws, be nice to Gatorbait2008. Remember? This is what the Florida board wants us to be -- nice to a "fan" that's wrong all of the time.

Who is doomsday? I think we win by a large margin. Stop running your mouth unless you want to meet. Tired of your little bitch arse. Pussy.

He's a classic user of the argument to moderation fallacy with a bit of contrarian sprinkled in there.
It makes for good threads but really it's always about tempering and moving closer to the center. Say Miami's defense wasn't that good "yes it was", say that our depth at DB is okay "no it's not".
There's really no reason to think we're that bad off at DB or that Miami's defense is that good considering their only ranked game was LSU basically running their offense at will until they were winning so handily that they just coasted the entire second half.
Similarly, we have a lot of depth at DB and four safeties who have significant playing time who could easily fill in if need be.
He just picks weird hills to die on.

Yup. Like claiming Chip Kelly was hired and that Chris Steele wasn't leaving Florida. Also wanting Mike White fired mid-season.
The dude doesn't know how to make an argument. He just trolls. He's not a true Florida fan. Just because he lives in Gainesville (or Hawthorne -- which isn't Gainesville), doesn't mean he's automatically a true gator. Doubt he ever attended UF either. If he did, I question the community college he used to get into a liberal arts major.

You can basically set your watch to a 3:00 storm every day during the summer in Jacksonville. I'm sure it's similar in Orlando.
