Yeah it is. They got a beatin if they got in the chicken pens though. I was young when it happened, but I remember an old blue tick hound we had got in and killed some of the chickens we had. Dad tied the thing up and whipped it and tied a dead chicken on it's head til it rotted off. Never got close to the pen again.

I don't have to imagine anything. People in my family had deer ranches in TX till about 5 years ago when my great aunt sold the land. Mix that with Cactus and sandburs and it's so much fun to clean a dogs fur. Deer wasn't the only thing on that land

My dogs used to Just roll in the dead chicken sludge in the farm next to ours. They would smell for DAYS, even after their baths. Couldn't have been prouder.
