your comparison was a relative one - you said it would be easier at Arkansas

Yeah, for SABAN...the subject of the thread.

Reality still exists for great coaches including Saban

Just because you thinks he farts Pierre Cardin and Shits Caviar doesn't mean he wouldn't find it harder or easier to succeed in different places

So, you don't think blue chips would go to S.C. if Saban was the coach?

he'd get some players for sure

Saban couldn't win at any other schools...

But Les Miles and Chizik have proved that they could.

Well, not in year 1 or 2 maybe... and not every year, but he would be able to win the East or West from any school other than Vandy....oh, and maybe not at UK.

He could go to S.C., Ole Miss, Arky, or State and would pull in top 10 recruiting classes based on HIS NAME alone. With top talent and good coaching any team can win.

Probably True. It is tough to recruit at those two places.

If we get a select 3-4 more recruits that we're already close to, we may end up with a top 10 class this year.

Rivals already has us at like 8 or something.

i don't think he could win a MNC at Old Miss or State. just too much recruiting competition and those cities and programs just aren't that attractive to recruits. even if the Almighty was their coach.

IMHO, A more interesting & realistic question would be "Do you believe Nick Saban could win an SEC Championship at either Ole Miss or S.C.?"

My answer would probably be the same: Not in three years. It would take some time. Neither Ole Miss nor S.C. has the resources of LSU or Alabama. That does, in fact, play a role.

Rivals has yall at 10. i don't think the Rebels make the top 10 in 2011 unless they pull some MAJOR upsets.

But we're close as it is with a coach who supposedly is a very poor recruiter. You also have to figure in that Saban won't be recruiting at Bama if he's at Ole Miss. Not saying Bama's hard to recruit to, I'm just saying Bama wouldn't get the quantity of the quality recruits that they get with him.

yeah for whatever reason Nutt is going to have an above average year for his standards. i think it may have a lot to do with Mississippi being stacked with blue chips in 2011? amirite?

btw, this would EPIC

Very much. Mississippi this year more than made up for a below-par talent level in Mississippi last year.

and as far as Snoop. I know he's really big on us right now and I've steadily been told he's ours to lose, but I'll hold my celebration till NSD.

I don't think many people outside of Arkansas accuse Nutt of being a bad recruiter - he has clearly outpaced what Ed Orgeron did at Ole Miss (and Ed was obviously hyped as a great recruiter)
