It's an embarrassment is what it is! That has to be one of the weakest schedules in all of FBS.

Could have had Notre Dame at home for the return game, but because of our SEC rotation, we opted to move them to 2019. With that said, we really can't control the relative strength of the LSU program when we rotate our west opponents. I imagine the AD sort of figured that would be a difficult road game so added some fluff to offset it. I guess we could have added Troy for a challenge though...

Out of curiosity, did a quick search (maybe some better sources out there?)... looks like it comes in at about middle of the pack for FBS, probably pretty close to bottom of P5 though. LINK

Surrounded by Miami and Alabama... 2 other teams not getting a SOS boost for playing LSU. And Clemson is actually lower...

ETA: ESPN likes Alabama's SOS a little better? But also puts us at 50th... LINK

Thank gosh. Thank gosh.

You're the first UGA fan I have seen admit this all summer.

All summer long it's been, "we've got more talent so we'll win and win big."

Finally ... a dawg fan that gets it.

Are you saying that 4 & 5 star players aren’t talented?

if you'd take your geritol and pay attention you'd realize that most of our fans point to SC as one of the 2/3 toughest games we play all season, especially given that it's early and on the road. You just see what you want to I guess.

Maybe you should read through this thread?

If we lose to SC, we'll almost certainly lose to either LSU or Auburn. Probably looking at 10-2 best case, which might still win the East.

Maybe. Auburn at home is harder than SC on the road... id rank the toughest games for us going into the season

Auburn
Sc
Lsu

I do believe South Carolina and LSU have really good shots at winning, though. I wouldn't count either of those out.

Its college football. Who knows. I know losing to USC early will put stress on our team to win the East. I do believe with the cupcake to start the season off, we will focus a good bit on USC and Mizzu in fall camp and preseason practice.

You can count me in on that argument. To say that SCAR has no chance at beating UGA is a foolhardy statement at best. UGA definitely has the edge in talent....but sometimes games aren't won on sheer talent alone.

Of course we need to win that early test in Columbia which is not a given by any means, at least not in my opinion.

False. We will trip up against SC, Mizzou, LSU, UF or Auburn any maybe more than one.

All by different Georgia posters and all from this thread only.

You have chosen to only remember that. Heck, just yesterday I made a similar point with specific mistakes that could happen.

Did Mizzou finally get a defense? If its as bad as last year UGA will win by a lot more than 25.

Do you think it is more likely that UGA wins the game?

The odds are obviouy in UGA's favor.

Coming off a shot at the title.

Loaded with superior talent. Y'all reload, you don't replace. Y'all select, you don't recruit. Y'all's coach and his staff are far superior. Y'all's coach likes to take it easy on his old friend Boom. Holyfield's arms are incredible. Fromm is immune to the soph-jinx.

So yes, more than likely UGA is supposed to win the game handedly. Line drops from 14.5 to 12.5 ... it's a sucker's bet.

I wouldn't touch it, but if I did my money is on SC to cover. If this was a Richt team, it would be all in.

I post this again.

When it comes to my money and betting I don't have a favorite team.

My one rule is always go the other way when it appears that everyone is going one way.

For it to have moved 2 pts in less than a month everyone has ro be laying down on the garnet and black.

That scares me.

What scares me more is that's it's not done. It'll be somewhere around 10.5 - 11.5 by kickoff and it'll definitely have a big ole nice shiney hook on it.

I wouldn't touch it with a nickle glued on to the tip of a ten foot poll.
