no that's the politicting side of things. I'm talking about a general philosophy of how you evaluate these things. Sometimes people want to go straight to comparing losses and I just don't understand that. I've asked many times but nobody can ever seem to give me a good answer? Shouldn't the relevant question be who collected the most impressive wins?

Wasn't that the argument against West Virginia in 07? They didn't deserve a shot because they lost to a bad team?

The point DS is making is that it took Saban and several other coaches to jury rig the BCS by voting OSU waaaaaaayyyyy lower than they should be to get in to the #2 spot.

That's not true. It's been proven that if the few coaches who voted OSU 4th voted them 3rd, it would have made no difference. And the point is, LSU lost. Period.

This. With two evenly matched teams like that, the one who lost in the first game will always have an advantage in the second.

While I do agree constant flamers are a nuisance, 80% of posters here would be whacked if that is the parameter. Personally I think that's what makes this place better than all other football related discussion boards - there is a fair amount of freedom.
All other places are strictly anti-American if you ask me, and I'm not even a patriotic dude.

5 people voted them 4th, behind an 11-1 Stanford, same record. One voted them 5th, coach from Air Force. Bama was solid in the Harris and Coaches polls, and only a .02 difference in the computers.
