Even still, I'd imagine there was a lot of pent-up hostility. UA was just maintaining their throne at the top of college football for the LSU game. Everyone knew LSU's previous victory was a fluke (meaning UA would have won 9/10 times, hence the reason LSU fans didn't want the rematch).

Don't diagree that it warrants consideration. But the lack of suspense really doesn't hold up to the 2009 SECCG or 2012 bcscg.just saying. It was awesome though, no doubt.

Completely disagree. That game exorcised all of the demons of the Shula years. Even the knowledge that we were about the kick the shite out of them did nothing to detract from just how great it was to watch it happen. Everything felt right in the world again after that game.
