This has been my point since the start

Bamas kicker was threatened to be killed last year

Same with Brandon Harris

And same with every coach at a big school who has struggled.

But throw in the n-bomb and now people really care?

I think it is his wife's way of telling him that she wants a divorce.

Its crazy man. It's seriously sad that some black people let that word have so much control over them.

So if this can somehow be confirmed as fake, does Aggy have cause to fire him immediately? The school president has already made a public statement about how deplorable this is - said they "are working with law enforcement authorities to bring the sender of this letter to justice". If the Sumlins turn out to be the senders, what does "justice" look like? The administration will really have egg on their face if it's not real.

I think police are involved.

There are really only 3 possible scenarios:

1) It's real and was sent by a horrible person who will be caught

2) It's real and was sent by a horrible person who will not be caught

3) It's fake and was sent by Sumlin wife or sympathizer for various reasons.

If scenario 1, I hope the person gets whatever punishment is allowable by law.

If scenario 2, that sucks, but it likely isn't the first such letter Sumlin has gotten during his tenure, so it's curious why it's coming out now.

If scenario 3, I hope it's a blend of scenario 1 and we find out who did it. I share belief of others that it does appear to be a woman's handwriting. I also find it suspicious that there is no P.O. stamp. If it was written by Sumlin wife or friend, was it written for A) attempt to put pressure on A&M that you can't fire or you'll look racist, or B) for Sumlin to be able to claim he doesn't want to be in an environment he doesn't feel safe and for him to "resign" at season end and, thus, not have a "firing" on his resume as he looks for other work (obv using quotes b/c he will still want A&M to give him that $11.25M)

Why does that matter?

Because it proves it a woman. The same gender as.............his wife?

Oh so you think his wife is the only woman on the planet? Or the only one capable of writing a letter?

Aside from no postage stamp, this is the #1 thing that is fishy to me.

This letter looks to be written as if the goal was to use the N-word. Not to threaten Sumlin.

The language around it is fifth-grade schoolyard insults. If someone was going to take the time to actually send a piece of hate mail to a football coach, I'd imagine they'd make it longer than 16 words and use much more colorful language.

When the author accomplished their goal of using the N-word, they realized it wasn't really all that vindictive or threatening, so they added "or else" almost as an afterthought.

Just seems really weird and not genuine.

Bottom line: seems to be awfully convenient that this racist hate mail happened to be rated PG, so that it could be posted on Twitter with zero editing (for the children's sake, of course).

Knowing that this would get this type of reaction, do you really think that she sent this? Think about it. He will get 8 figures if he is fired regardless so why make such a big deal about it. He will also land another gig somewhere else in less than a year. So using the race card to keep his job is kind of exhausting and unneeded, don't you think?

Bro, don't you know, white women are not and are not capable of being racists. Never mind any instances where they have been proven to be. Since it has been proven without a shadow of doubt that this is a woman's handwriting, it can only be Charlene's.

Are you sad that you can't freely say it to them without fear of repercussion?

I don't call "them" anything...as far as I'm concerned, a person is who/what they are, not what their race is. Now I can't say the same regarding their level of intelligence.
