Didn't need to score more. Just needed to run the clock. Mercy running.

You'd think with all the talk we got when we entered this league about us getting our arse beat that they wouldn't need to pull a tactic like this.

i think not allowing the defense to substitute is also a tactic. and the hurry up to "wear the defense down" and for them to not be ready for the play is a tactic. are those illegal? no and they should not be. tactics are tactics. faking an injury, if it indeed happened is merely a tactic. whining about it and offering that as a reason y'all lost (admittedly you did not but most of your brethren did) is an excuse. you lost because you could not score points in the second half. there was NO OTHER REASON. imo, you couldn't score points because your new coached boxed your offense in and didn't/couldn't make adjustments. if i am correct, this will become painfully obvious before the year is out. and lastly, i was pulling for y'all; sumlin pissed me off with his sticking to the game plan when it failed.

I compare fast-paced, quick-snap offenses to a pitcher quick-pitching a hitter....it aint cool. Personally, I think the Oregon quicksnap, fast-pace offense is gimmicky, annyoying, and bush-league football.

As long as teams are going to try and do that, I have no problem with the defenses slowing the pace down in any way possible, just as I have no problem with hitters stepping out of the box for a bit to slow the pace down.

Completely agree. I think the defense should get a set amount of time to get ready for a play, just as the offense has a set amount of time to get the play off.

Anyways, its ok Florida. Next time our O will be better and I know you had a lot of injuries but maybe when you are SEC tough you can come back. Well be ready.

Don't need to be to beat the Aggies apparently.

You guys were doing so well prior to turning all Mizzou.

I thought UTx fans were wrong about you guys.

SEC Tough, Florida has been SEC tough for a LONG TIME junior. We showed the world vs tOSU what the SEC was about and 6 SEC NC later, you tell us?

I don't think the UF guys were out of shape, I think they weren't used to the pace A&M played at. Happened to us last year against OSU. The only thing that was BS then was they were substituting on offense and not giving the D time to substitute. The rule is if you don't substitute on O you can keep going in the hurry up. It's a rule originally designed for the end of halves/games but now is used as an offensive tactic.

Florida won, A&M lost. Props to the Gators. Florida also won because they played better when it counted and made plays and made stops, Props again to the Gators.

Will the hurry up tactic work long term? Hard to say. Manzeil was being overly cautious against an excellent UF Defense and secondary that forced him to make adjustments he just wasn't able to make. Will experience fix that? Maybe. Right or wrong on the "cramps" they did seem to bother the A&M offensive rhythm so they need to figure that out. Best way to stop that tactic is to play through it and not bitch about it.

I did find one quote from our MLB interesting from the PC. He was asked about our defenses conditioning and he said they never even got tired. He said he was used to 2 a days against our fast paced offense and Florida huddled and there was a nice breeze. He got 17 tackles on the game. I don't mention this to rag on UF, I mention it because it makes me optimistic that our defense may be able to do better with less depth than I originally thought.

Once again in case you missed it, Props to the Gators for the win!

Your D didn't get tired because we didn't run the hurry up. There is no great difference between the two teams in conditioning.

If you believe that then you are admitting that every one of those cramps was fake.

Nope. I'm moving to fast. I'll slow down.

Our D guys were obviously working with less rest between plays than your guys. You see, this is because one team runs a ball control pro-style offense and was trying to burn clock. The other runs a HS gimmick offense that tries to reduce the time between plays.

I'll let you figure out which is which.

I think Rummy should change all your logos to 'horns.

My favorite part of teams like Oregon that run the spread offense is what a terrible position they put their defense in after they score on a 30 second drive, then turn around and have a 30 second 3 and out.

And it's had such a terrible effect on Oregon's results.

lastly, i was pulling for y'all..

It's funny, I tried, I mean I REALLY tried pulling for A&M and Mizzou - but ultimately I just could not.

I always pull for the SEC - unless they're playing Louisiana schools - and A&M and Mizzou just don't look like SEC schools yet.
