Personally, I'd rather play tu on Thanksgiving and LSU on the opening day of the year.
I dunno about first game of the year, but LSU fans obviously aren't excited about the Thanksgiving game and restoring the tu Thanksgiving game would reestablish a long, long tradition for football fans in Texas. I'd love it.

In my case, it's like competing with my brother rather than some dumb hick swamp dwelling second cousin.
For generations, my whole family went to ut. I'm the misfit and I miss rubbing it in their faces on Thanksgiving family gatherings.

God love you, you old-army bastard. You guys have spirit. What you don't have is business sense.
Everyone loved the Coke v. Pepsi taste tests several years ago. There is a reason you don't see them anymore. Why should Coke, the biggest soft drink bottler in the universe, give 2-bit Pepsi a stage? Who cares if Coke wins? People will hear about Pepsi and the tests will make Pepsi relevant.
Oh, but competiton. Tradition. Honor. Intestinal fortitude!! Coke should do the taste test again for the sake of balls growing.
Okay. Stupid example but you should get the point.
We are yellow chicken shite ballless state runaways that turned our backs on our beloved state. We are caniving, no good, dirty scoundrals worthy of prison. We are ______ (fill in the blank).
Still not gonna play the fricking longhorns and there ain't shite those frickers can do about it.
frick the longhorns.

Seeing the Big 12 mire in mediocrity, how dominate our recruiting is... I just don't want to frick with the current dynamic.
Agree. Like the dynamic.
2012 11–2 6–2 T-5th
2013 9–4 4–4 T-7th
2014 8–5 3-5 T-9th

The younger you are, the less the A&M/Texas rivalry seems to matter.
Then its the "real" rival OU that matters, even though we Ronald Reaganed the shite out of them recently.
I think 10 years is right too. This whole GOR period is an aberration.
Thank you for the input.

I understand your point, but I'd rather beat them on the field.

2013 9–4 4–4 T-7th
So you're saying that the 7th(tied)team in the SEC beat the big 12-2 co-champion?

Watch out Mr. Mexican Beer, the Rant Referee Korin is on the case.

Horns want a team they can beat on thanksgiving
Posted on 4/14/15 at 6:19 pm to cardboardboxer
Well that's pretty impressive for Duke to win a conference they weren't even a member of, wouldn't you agree?
Posted on 4/14/15 at 6:22 pm to BackInBlackTiger
Exactly. The Baylor and TCU deal backfired bigtime. No matter how bad it is to lose to Aggy, its worse to lose to these cockroach private schools that will be left out the next round of realignment and who can't even fill their stadium. We would buy tickets at least.

In fact Texas is the most overrated place for football in the country.
Boy, really disagree with this theme. My California school built it's recent success on a handful of Texans. A&M going to the SEC gives the SEC even more entry into the state to further disperse good players throughout the country.
Not knocking Florida or the per capita contributions of the rest of the South but I think you take the hyberbolic cake. A&M recent classes are solidly Texan, and despite the entry into the SEC, I still think A&M is going to have to focus on the Texans.
I may be missing your point though.

I think it is dumb for the biggest programs in Texas to knock each other out of the playoffs at the end of every year. With an early game the loser can recover and maybe both can make it. A rematch in the playoffs would be epic.
Just my opinion though.
Meh. What Auburn did to Alabama in 2013 was pretty epic.

Korin pure usual you are 100% correct. I never take issue with your point, I just don't get your angle of fairness.

No big rivalry games are week 1. Would be fun.

National titles based on talent. That was my point. Texas is lacking, including Stanford's contribution. A&M contributes to that too I know.

Neither team has anything to gain from a game for at least another 7-10 years. Just no point in doing so, as neither team can afford to lose to the other at this time.
