I think the best thing for A&M to do is not act as if you don't need Texas, or that you don't want them, it's to schedule them at all fricking costs and then beat the ever living frick out of them for three or four consecutive years. Hell, play every game in Austin, but stomp a mudhole in their asses four consecutive years and you'll really see a change in the way people in your state, and around the country, view your football program.

Sometimes, the way out is, in fact, the most direct method.

Meh. Or we could just win the SEC.

You'll have a better chance of beating Texas than you do winning tSEC.

No beating them 40 times in a row will do nothing if they are only regular season games. Sure it will make the overall record less embarassing but to be brutally honest we need skins on the wall to change anything perception wise.

The bats are trying to return from their Mexico migration, BTW. We should build them a cave or something.

We will win it before LSU wins it again, of that I'm sure.

You don't get it. The term "wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire". Applies here

Those rat bastards tried to blow the big 12 up and frick EVERYBODY, we caught them and stopped them. Frick them

We have a better shot at beating a .500 Big 12 team whose coach doesnt even know his QBs first name than winning the SEC?

Heres the thing TA:

We did EXACTLY what you said back in the 90s. We played them every year, and beat them like 9 out of 10 times, and what the frick does that do for our program today? Did it change your perception? frick no. Did it really help us any way more than our ego and recruiting in the moment? frick no.

The problem is we can't win forever. They are the richest fricks in the sports, even the LSUs and Auburns of the world would have a losing record if they have to play them every year. And as soon as we lose a few this magic streak you say will change our program is flushed down the shitter.

It is like if you gave me $10,000 and said "all you need to do to be a millionaire is to dump all that money onto the craps table until you win the million." You make it sound easy, when the reality is the odds are against you. The smart move is to take that money and invest it, maybe in your education, so that you take the safe path to a million more in lifetime earnings.

frick it, playing Texas is a rigged game. I will admit that. In the long run it is to their benefit, not ours. And the only people that really want to see us play know that, and they just can't wait for Aggie to crawl back under the rock Texas had us under for a decade. frick that.

It just seems passive aggressive to me, you know?

There's a very simple solution to change the way people in Tejas think: beat the brakes off of the Texas Longhorns on their field, on their terms, multiple times in a row.

Next thing you know, kids all across the Lone Star State are growing up cheering for the Maroon and White rather than wearing burnt orange. See: Pat Dye and the culture change at Auburn.

Pat Dye wasn't scared of Alabama, nor was he scared of playing on their terms. Y'all are running from the issue. Grow a fricking sack and beat their brains in. I guarantee you'll have SEC support in such a contest.

Sure, but the reward of winning the SEC is WAY bigger.

Fran beat Texas TWICE IN A ROW. Did that magically make our program respectable in the 00's? frick no, we got a meaningless win and they had a one in the L column on the way to a big bowl game.

We need to set our goals higher, our sights higher. That means the goal can't be beating Texas, that low water mark has held us back for too long.

Exactly. Yet the "simple" Rant answer is "just go beat them." Yeah and I am just going to go frick a supermodel, because you can do whatever you put your mind to in life.

I would much rather play LSU every year, at least that record is closer.
